BREAKING: The Albanese Government just released their Future Gas Strategy. This plan to open massive new gas fields is a blueprint for climate disaster! With the Prime Minister over in WA to promote this reckless plan we must show that the community demands no more coal and gas. Come along to Rise Up!

Want more action from our politicians to tackle climate change? Join a people-powered rally near you this May:

Together, let's turn out big crowds and make our demands to the Australian Government loud and clear:

  • No more coal and gas
  • No more handouts to big coal and gas polluters, and
  • deliver strong new nature laws that actually protect our wildlife from climate destruction.

Two young people speaking into megaphones. In the background is a bit crowd of people. Over the image are the words Rise Up like the floods and flames.

We’re partnering with our friends at Move Beyond Coal, Australian Youth Climate Coalition, 350.org and GetUp! to convey a clear message to the Albanese Government: no more coal and gas.

Together we’re aiming to turn out enormous crowds of people speaking up for the climate – more than we’ve seen in years! With a federal election expected next year, and climate destruction getting worse, Rise Up is our moment to show the government just how powerful our movement for climate action is.

When hundreds, or even thousands of us take to the streets in this coordinated wave of action, we will loudly convey a message that the Albanese Government cannot ignore!

Our country can be a world leader in renewable know-how! We've had some recent wins, like the announcement of the Albanese Government’s $1 billion Solar SunShot program to make more solar panels here in Australia.

But we need to see more action like this from our government. That's where Rise Up comes in.

Join your local Rise Up action and hear from inspiring speakers, take actions to build pressure on the government to act and meet like-minded community members all speaking up to create change.

It’s going to be a loud and powerful 12 days. Let’s make this the biggest climate action of the year so far!

Learn more from ACF’s First Nations lead Josie Alec about how the places we love are under threat from big polluters like Woodside – and why it’s so important for us to speak up to our elected representatives to urge them to protect us from climate chaos:

Here is a handy map created by our friends at Move Beyond Coal showing all the actions different groups and individuals have organised across the country to Rise Up! Events listed on the map (except for Rise Up Brisbane) are independent actions, not hosted by ACF.
