Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web.jpg

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

Please stop the logging that is responsible for erasing this creature from our planet! It’s the right thing to do.

Dear Alex,
Many creatures on this Earth are in dire threat of extinction, one in particular, is the Palm Cockatoo. Being unable to protect themselves or state their own case, they are doomed, unless help is provided and that help can only come, from the Human Race. At the moment, the greatest threat to this wonderful creature, is the Human Race itself. This has to stop. As my elected Representative, I appeal to you, to do whatever you can, to persuade the Government and the Opposition, to do the correct thing and put into place, appropriate and adequate protective Legislation and to obtain funding, to help restore the Palm Cockatoo population. This must be done and I hope that it starts with you.
With thanks,
Yours Faithfully,
Neville P. Wilkinson

We need urgently more stringent legislation to reduce land clearing in areas where it is necessary to protect vulnerable species and ensure that various species such as the numbat, Palm Cockatoo and others are not made extinct in the wild.

Australia needs strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love. there are many creatures threatened with extinction in Australia – not surprising, given we have reportedly one of the highest, if not the highest, rates of extinction in the world – a terrible indictment. Please raise this with the leadership of your party, and press them to act appropriately.

These remarkable birds and many more creatures are endangered and need stronger protective measures.

Australia is losing its flora and fauna at an alarming rate – this is NOT acceptable.
Please help make a difference to protect our wildlife by creating sanctuaries free from mining and felling of trees.
We really need strong environmental laws in pace.

It has just made public that the rare Palm Cockatoo is under severe threat.Their habitat is under threat being bulldozed. Stronger laws are urgently needed to protect this rare bird and many other uniquely Australian animals from extinction. Can you please be an advocate for these creatures and raise this issue with the PM and environment minister. Many thanks.

We need laws that will stop companies destroying the precious creatures habitats. Laws that will compel decision makers to make decisions that help, not harm, our living world. Laws that will give these creatures a voice.

Our country wipes out more mammals and animals, at a faster rate than any other country. What a great thing to boast about!
Thankyou for being part of the salvation of this animal, this country, our planet.
These birds use tools, something people assume animals cant do.
Think of the beauty of this bird, the interactions with plants and other animals, the real great world wide web of creation.

Thankyou,
Carol Willis

Our government should be full of shame for allowing the destruction of our bush and its creatures. Please do what you can to strengthen Australia’s environmental protection laws and to stop this destruction.
Janis 2018-06-06 16:33:24 +1000
We need stronger environmental laws to protect the nature we have now before it is gone for good. We need to be looking to alternative sources of power so that we can stop the destruction of our natural environment. Australia used to be the lucky country but we have plundered her until she has almost reached her brink … mother nature is reflecting that by the dwindling numbers and critically endangered species we are seeing now. What more of a mirror do we need to see the destruction we are causing?! Pleas act on behalf of the concerned citizens who elected you.

The environment is a life support- not only for humans but for all the creatures dependant on it. They depend on humans for their existence now – so please don’t play god with their lives. Give them a chance to continue existing on the planet.

Biodiversity is the cornerstone of an environment in balance. If you destroy the balance of our global ecosystem, things start to break down. It might take a while but when the system breaks down, it will eventually affect us. We must think sustainability in order to protect our children from future harm.
