Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

I want to have all these amazing animal species around for when my generation grows up. Don’t allow the chance for future generations to experience these natural wonders tomorrow dissipate because of inaction today.

We need to protect our fragile world and words need to be put on paper so that there are solid laws that stop the constant destruction to feed our human population. We can live with a lot less – thousands in the world do. Stand up please for these incredible creatures that call Australia home and which add a richness to our world and which without the web of life is broken. We need strong laws. regards Diana Bradley

If we don’t protect the world and all it’s amazing creatures from extinction due to misuse and carelessness, what will be left for our children? Food chains disappear and things get out of balance, and once they’re gone you can’t get them back. But we have the power to make a difference and fix it before it’s too late.

Too many native Australian animals are being driven to extinction because of habitat loss due to logging and diminishing forests. We need strong national environmental laws to protect the places on which our wildlife depend. Please act urgently before it’s too late!

In this day and age we know what we are doing to the planet, we know without a change in our behaviour our children will be in a world without the diversity we were lucky enough to experience and we know big business could care less about the environment. It’s up to you as a leader to secure our environmental future. Do the right thing strengthen not weaken environmental laws.
