Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

The destruction of our forests has to stop. Wherevi live in greenbank qld the developrrsvhave recently completely cleared every tree from over 300 acres of land and dewatered a beautiful dam to build a new housing estate. It is just so wrong.

Our environmental laws are too loose! I feel ashamed to say that we are not a future thinking, progressive nation when it comes to environmental issues. I want a future for my children that incorporates nature and wildlife!!!

These wonderful birds must be protected at all costs. Our native fauna deserve it, and belong much more than the bulldozers that are destroying their habitat.

These birds are too beautiful and are too iconic to our great land to let them perish under such cruel circumstances.

Enough of the destruction, please. Our decision makers lack foresight – one day our wildlife be the primary thing that brings researchers, tourists and film makers to Australia because there’s nothing on any other continent.

Australian animals are unique and need our protection. We need better laws to make sure that the environments that these animals need are protected and stay that way now.

Dear Member of Parliament,
Please do the right thing. We need you to create laws that protect the environment, and not support practices that destroy it.
Respectfully,
Heidi Spicer
