Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

One of our beautiful unique Australians soon to be yet another victim of excessive logging. We need stronger laws to protect a growing list of endangered species,
and our special environment.

I care about this land and the animals within. Politicians and their politics come and go, but the environment remains. It must be protected. In 100 years or so, everyone on this planet will be dead. The legacy that we leave must be care for the environment.
Australia has been settled by Europeans for just over 200 years, yet in parts of Western Australia 20% of arable land has been lost to rising salinity, because of too much land clearing and poor land management. The problem of dryland salinity is predicted to get much worse unless we act now to protect the environment.
Please become an activist for the environment, for Australia’s future.

This bird is only ONE of a number of endangered species. We cannot continue to ignore the ecological damage caused by logging. Eventually this damage will turn into economic damage as well. We do not own this earth but we are likely to become tenants in a much depleted one if we do not take responsibility for unfettered destruction.

Imagine a world without this incredible creature?! I love Australia’s quirky and beautiful animals, and hope one day that I can giggle at them, watch them and enjoy them with my kids! Stronger nature laws are needed now. Stand up and represent me and what matters!
