Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web.jpg

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

It is shameful to allow so many native species disappear, especially when it has been happening so quickly over the last 200+ years. Please, I urge you to put a stop to the destruction of habitat.

You are no doubt well aware that we need stronger pro environment laws to safeguard many many species of native animals that are under threat from mining, logging, in fact any aggressive human intervention in their habitat.

Please protect the Palm cockatoo by not destroying the environment it lives in. Stop the destruction of the bush, these birds are apart of Australia.

We are rapidly losing so many of these Australian creatures to land clearing with its habitat destruction. It’s reaching crisis point. If we don’t act now these beautiful creatures will be lost to us forever.
Merridy 2018-06-06 10:39:03 +1000
The Federal and State Governments have signed the death warrant on this species by approving the large scale and unexplained clearing of land in Cape York . It is past time to put the environment before short time financial gain.
Deborah 2018-06-06 10:35:20 +1000
Our environmental laws (State and Federal) are not saving species from extinction. Many of Australia’s native species occur no-where else, and are part of our national heritage. Yet we are allowing them to disappear on our watch. We are a wealthy nation and can do better. These critters and plants are too precious to lose. Please tighten our environmental laws for current and future generations of Australians.
Paula 2018-06-06 10:30:44 +1000
We mustn’t be the Australian generation to be responsible for excessive habitat loss. Critical areas must be protected.

Once again the Australian government doesn’t listen to its people. Why do you always put destructive industries that benefit the very few infront of our beutiful and unique environemnt that benefits the majority for years to come. Its time to change priorities, please.

Biodiversity is vital to the health of the planet and our own health and wellbeing. Losing beautiful Australian fauna to extinction is a tragedy that can and should be prevented.

The community has finished with watching our environment destroyed and all the creatures that live in them run over and trampled into the ground by the bulldozers of greedy corporations and companies with no ethics . Stop supporting their corruption and put money into rehabilitating this earth to a livable state . Stop supporting the destruction and death of all our animals this is not the only bird or creature to be on the extinction list because of plain narcissistic greed and overdevelopment .
Gabriela 2018-06-06 10:24:27 +1000
Nature can’t defend itself. That’s why we need you to make sure the wildlife wonders are preserved for future generations.
Thank you.
Christian 2018-06-06 10:21:56 +1000
Dear Minister.

Australian wildlife and wilderness are under as much pressure now as ever before. Government after Government have failed to protect our great unique environment. Government failures are the reason we are where we are because ‘YOU’ are the law makers. No one else can make laws to defend wilderness and wildlife. Politicians have to take responsibility for this and do what is right. How many more years will we have this story? Not too many or to many? Depending on which one there will be or there wont be some of these creatures. What are you going to do?

Regards.

Mal Hull.
