Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web.jpg

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

I don’t fully understand how politics (and politicians) still do not understand the concept of finite. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. It’s not in hiding waiting to make a grande return. GONE. Start realising that we need our natural environments more than it needs us. Once the forests are gone, the beautiful birds are gone (like the palm cockatoo), we won’t last. It’s as simple as that. Start to be better. You owe the planet 🌏

How can we be allowing habitat loss for the a,aging creatures in Cape York. Only 3000 palm cockatoos left and we are still letting deforestation occurr. Why?

Our environment laws are there to protect the air we breathe, our wildlife and the places we love.

Yet under these laws today, our governments are allowing companies to mine, bulldoze, dredge and destroy with little oversight.

By bulldozing forests, digging mines and sealing soil under concrete, big companies are fracturing the web of life and plants and animals are vanishing like never before. This cannot go on.

We need laws that protect life, not allow it to be destroyed.

I am enthralled by the amazing mating behaviour of these cockatoos! Let’s not lose such a unique species. Please! No more bulldozing of their habitat!

We need stronger environment laws so we can prevent the destruction of the natural vegetation. Soon we will lose our distinctive Australian species and they will be gone from us forever.
Glenise 2018-06-07 13:35:42 +1000
This beautiful creature is just another that our grandchildren won’t be able to see in the wild as we continue to devastate the habitats of these birds and so many other creatures through our greed and thoughtlessness. We need strong environment laws in Australia.

We have beautiful animals we are losing at a fast rate due to our need for land and the extreme harm we are doing to the natural enviroment. I want my Grandchildren and future generations to enjoy the beauty of nature and its animals. Money and infrastructure cant replace nature. Once there gone its to late then theres no turning back .Its your responsibility to ensure our Australian animals are protected.

Australia has one of the most beautiful wildlife that I have ever seen. I hope my children can see it too.

Because we are stewards, not conqueror’s of this land and it’s creatures, we need stronger and wiser laws that protect and conserve the environment.

Jobs and growth?..
What your actually delivering is less work (a system of ineffective employment options) Environment destruction and standing by while we are Currently Actually In the 6th Mass Extinction Event on Earth ( the Hectocic). All for what? Profits.
DISGUSTING….
We deserve to go if we think we have the right to exploit this world to destruction.
We’ll go, no doubt about it, it wasn’t our right to kill off life-kind for our own selfish folly.
But you know we can fix this.
We just need to be good people and face the truths.

Over to you, do we Live? Or Die?
Choose.
