Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web.jpg

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

Member of Parliament, Australia has one of the most diverse and colourful arrays of flora and fauna found on the planet! Yet the lack of courage and regulation by both major political parties on the issues of conservation and protection should be a source of shame. PLEASE protect our wildlife from rampant greed and shortsightedness by economic vandals, who appear to only think of their own hip pockets.

We need stronger environmental laws for those who can’t speak for themselves. Animals who are dying because of our selfish way of life. Please help keep them alive for their own right and so our children may enjoy them as well one day.

We need stronger environment laws to protect Australian native species. They support the health and essential growth of our environment whilst helping to combat human destruction. They bring joy to people. Whilst we become overpopulated and YOU continue to squeeze people into tiny areas you are destroying the habitat of our native species. Australia’s records are apalling and need to be changed.

Palm Cockatoos are native to a very limited Australian ecosystem- the Cape York Peninsula of northern Australia. As early as 2010 scientists have been concerned about the impact of loss of habitat from mining and inappropriate fire management threatening these incredible animals ( SCIENCEWISEWINTER 2010) to the point that in 2018 they are at imminent risk of extinction Australian Conservativion Foundation). Exacerbating this are recent plans for major vegetation clearing in this region.
Your are our government and this species’ protectors. Do something, be guided by our scientists concerns!! are very slow breeders and also have low reproductive success, so recovery would be slo

STOP allowing these beautiful creatures to disappear.
STOP protecting greedy developers and ridiculous profits.
STOP and think that when these creatures have gone IT WILL BE FOREVER. This is very important to me and millions of Australians. Discuss this with your party leader and contribute to protective national environment legislation. Soon it will be too late and you will have been part of the destruction of these magnificent creatures. Take a stand, do the right thing, you do have the power to do this.

If we keep changing our natural habitat for the other creatures we inhabit these Earth with we will lose them. How many extinctions have to happen before you realise that the Earth can no longer support us human beings either. We are all apart of a bigger picture and you are creating too many fast changes, natural biodiversity will fail and we will die too.

we need to protect our precious wildlife we should have learnt from the past clearing and destruction is bad for our native wildlife we adore our wildlife some of us ( my grandfather) adore it more than other humans. these creatures give far more than they take they keep our environment flourishing unlike us humans, they help spread native seeds, some keep snakes etc at bay we need to give them help

Please improve our environmental laws to keep these beautiful creatures from extinction. Stop the clearing of their habitat.
Brian 2018-06-09 17:26:52 +1000
Stronger environmental laws are required to protect places our wildlife depend on. Once habitats are lost and species are extinct, we can’t get them back. Please don’t allow that to happen.
