Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web.jpg

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

Dear MP,
You were elected to cover the interests of the Australian people not for those of foreign multinationals, destroying our country. Time to stop this destruction that is resulting and has resulted in the extinction of numerous species of animals. The canary in the coal mine literally. We are next. Don’t be corrupted by foreign political donations and do what you were elected to do. Care for this whole country! NOT exterminate the planet for a short term quick buck that soon will be worth nothing.

I care for these animals and birds and fish and sharks that are on the extinction list. once they are gone they will never be recovered .once their environment is destroyed! it will never be recovered! You have the power to prevent it from happening!! So please protect those who cannot speak for themselves. Then you can walk proud knowing that for once YOU did the RIGHT thing for those who cannot speak for themselves.

I am deeply concerned about species extinction. I want this government to take meaningful action to reduce carbon emissions, stop forest clearing and consult with scientists on the best way forward.

I don’t want to be the generation responsible for the extinction of these magnificent animals when we knew better and had the power to make positive change, the generation who continued to value money over life and the generation that didn’t teach our children to be better and be the change they want to see in the world.
Please hear our voices, you represent us in places we can’t speak for ourselves so please ensure you carry on our words and help us to be the generation that were better and began a revolution.

We all have the right to co habit this earth. Humans are not more important than animals. We all have a place.
Please do everything in your power to preserve our Palm Cockatoo’s habitat with laws which will allow them to thrive just as we expect this for ourselves.
Thank you

Humans are supposed to be smart. Instead of being responsible for making plants, animals & entire ecosystems extinct, we should be PROTECTING them instead. It’s time to step up for the future of the planet.
