Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.
To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.
But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.
Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.
Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

All life should be valued, humans are the only ones who have a voice and are able to take action.
Will our generation be the one who watched over the destruction of our remarkable wildlife and did nothing about it? Currently we are certainly putting the greed for money before the survival of the Palm Cockatoo and a variety of wildlife and habitat. All wildlife have a role to play in the ecosystem. We have a duty of care to protect their environment.
Who will stand by these beautiful creatures unless we do please care
Eventually humans will be all that’s left and that’s the only time we will take action, the fate of earth is sad and we will regret not trying the hardest we could to save it.
The thought of losing this beautiful creature is too sad to contemplate.
Please help this magnificent bird.
Thankyou.
We should prevent the extinction of these animals for future generations.
Too many species are being threatened because of deforestation and climate change. Please help them!!
We have only one Planet, one, why is it o.k for us to let these wonderful creatures expire? Why?
Diversity is most important
We have a unique fauna and flora that is quickly disappearing. It seems shameful that in 2018 we still have yet to learn how to live without destroying other species. We would have to be the dumbest of all species.
These creature are unique and amazing. It is just horrifying to think that as humans we are destroying such a beautiful eco system. Animals are part of a web of life and ecosysytem that we also rely on. We must protect what we have left. Will you please stand up for these beautiful animals who can’t defend themselves?
The birds of the qld coast are beautiful. It is however becoming extremely rare to find the vulnerable Palm Cockatoo. Please preserve this lovely bird for future generations. Thank you
I am an Australian to my bone marrow and grew up seeing the various species of this magnificent bird. When are we going to wake up!
Because once they disappear, they are gone forever.
These birds are unique and
extraordinary. We just cannot
let them disappear.
It is up to each of us to protect our planet. To keep it the way it was meant to be naturally. Stop the destruction now.
Its endangered, what more needs to be said
Once these beautiful, intelligent creatures are gone, they will never return.
The World it seems is imploding but until that happens we need to protect our Native Birds & Animals, especially the Endangered Species numbering a frightening several thousand , to ensure a balance of nature in our wonderful country!
To the honourable Ged Kearney member for Batman,
Our current environment laws are failing our threatened species. The beautiful palm cockatoo is an example of this failure. It is blatantly absurd to have environment laws which do not consider the cumulative impact of multiple actions. In this case multiple instances of land clearing for agriculture. We are seeing species decline like never before. Many populations are in free fall. The frustrating aspect of this fact is that the majority of declining species would be quickly saved if we had environment laws with teeth. Environment laws which have the capacity to protect the environment- is that such a revolutionary idea? If so, let us come together to bring this revolution to fruition.
Yours sincerely,

Most beautiful parrot in the world in my opinion, and not many left!!
