Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web.jpg

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

All animals have a right to live in peace and not be held to ransom for man’s greed! Why do we feel it is o.k. to destroy the environment which we all rely on, where do these animals go when their home is gone? Extinction is forever and there is no going back. Australia is lucky to have so many wonderful birds and animals, isn’t it time to look after them? I am asking you to help protect not only them but the places where they live and hopefully thrive, please, enforce stronger environmental laws before it is too late.

Please start changing this culture of neglect. Generations of Australians are counting on you to at now!

long term survival of this planet’s (more specifically this continent) animals and a balanced biodiversity is more important than short term gain from habitat destruction.

It does not matter where our endangered wildlife lives nor wither it moves on legs, wings or fins. If they disappear we will be the poorer and our own lives will be increasingly threatened. We humans are do not live separately from our wildlife, we depend on them as they depend on us. We must not let them become extinct.

Extinction of species ends with us. Ours is the choice.

The vulnerability of this animal and many others is being exasperated by the logging of their habitat. We all enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the natural environment around us and want this to continue. We need strong environmental laws to protect the places and creatures we love. I urge you raise this critical issue with your party leader. Together we can help to protect the environment and the animals that rely on it for survival.

We must protect the habitat of these and so many other endangered species that are being lost thru clearing and feral animals!!

Please consider what the impact of logging is doing to our biodiversity! Protect our forests and all species within them. We are custodians and as such should practise responsible stewardship to ensure the future for our children is a world rich with wonderful parrots, lizards, numbats and all such creatures that enrich our lives

We have single-handedly instigated the endangerment of so many species of our wonderful native flora and fauna, and it is sickening to think how selfish we are as to not focus on preserving the natural wonders we have been blessed with for future generations, and to see Australian species thriving in their natural environments.

We need to act now before our damage becomes entirely irreversible. Please, consider our immense amounts of vulnerable species and turn your attention to conserving their precious lives.

To whom it concerns, my name is Kate Donovan and I have grown on Melbourne. I have always had a great love and respect for natural environment as I believe it is our most precious asset in Australia and as such we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask you to raise this with your party leader.
Kind regards, Kate Donovan

Nothing is more urgent or important than protecting our natural heritage. The people of Australia want real leadership and action NOW on the Environment.

Climate change, plastic suffocating our oceans, extinction, phasing out fossil fuels, these are the issues we need our decision makers (the politicians who are employed by the Australian people) to address and action immediately. Not in 20 years time!

This beautiful cockatoo deserves to live in peace, just as humans desire.
Don’t let the Palm Cockatoo become extinct.

Too many of our birds and animals have become extinct. We have one of the highest extinction rates in the world, which is something to be ashamed of. I am sure with concerted efforts we could save many of our endangered species like the Palm Cockatoo.
