Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web.jpg

Palm cockatoos are pretty incredible birds.

To woo lady palm cockatoos, males make drumsticks from branches and seed pods and beat their own rhythms while whooping and flapping their wings. Their rosy cheeks glow vibrant red when they’re excited.

But bulldozers are making them vulnerable to extinction. This cannot go on.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

I care because I care for our ‘ Mother Earth’ & the gradual slide into climate change , the déforestation of our amazing old growth forests, drilling, fracking burning of fossil fuels, loss of diversity & loss of these remarkable creatures here in Australia & across our planet.
We the concerned & caring are hanging out waiting for a gutsy member of parliament to stand up & say they understand our concerns & as our representative they are going to champion the cause.
These creatures are unique every one of them, let’s stop their extinction,
Thankyou.

These creatures can’t speak for themselves but are special and vital pieces in our wildlife puzzle. Once they’re extinct it means we have failed them. Let’s not fail them

Dear Sarah Henderson,MP.
Will you please urge your party Leader and fellow ministers to develop and implement stronger environmental laws to protect our natural environment.
Australia has the dubious distinction of having one of the highest species extinction rates in the world. This is mostly due to excessive land clearing and tree felling. The present laws have diminished measurable standards to enable accurate scientific measurement.
Please do not insult my intelligence by claiming “worlds best practice” and similar political waffle.
What is happening in this country is gross and obscene..Our old growth forests are being trashed into woodchips and practically given away .As a result our unique wild life is being forced into smaller and smaller areas and towards extinction.
Please listen to the people and to the earth and take an active stance against this land clearing and species extinction. This is also for present and future generations of Australians.
Thankyou for your time.

We are the one of the worse countries for letting our animals become extinct. How embarrassing.
Penny 2018-06-05 17:50:42 +1000
Our precious animals need our protection before they become extinct. If you care please advocate in behalf if all the endangered species in Australia. We must save them so that future generations can enjoy them.

Take affirmative action to prevent further loss of Australian species by ensuring our environmental laws serve their intended purpose. Stop kowtowing to big business at the expense of flora, fauna and natural habit. Loss of habitat equals loss of species. Make environmental laws work.

I am most concerned by the shrinking numbers of our native fauna, putting so many of them at serious risk of extinction. I hope that, as leader of the party and Premier, you can help to enact laws that limit logging, coal mining (which contributes so much to global warming and climate change) and fracking. I will be sending you alerts for other native animals of ours.

Kind regards,

It is disturbing to see the rate at which our native fauna and flora is being decimated. We need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love and leave a better place for our future generations.

We have no right to bring about the extinction of other species. We must factor conservation of the natural environment and its inhabitants into all our actions.
