The Turnbull Government’s latest energy policy foray has demonstrated its unhealthy obsession with burning more dirty coal and gas and intent to ditch concrete action to cut climate pollution.

Prime Minister Turnbull even dumps the pretence of a Clean Energy Target, which was the key recommendation of the Finkel Review commissioned by the Prime Minister himself.

We’re left with no credible way to cut pollution in a reckless policy failure which locks in burning even more coal than Australian companies burn today. As the world moves to implement Paris climate commitments, it’s a national embarrassment that Australia’s climate pollution is still rising.

How did we get here? What does it mean? And what’s next?

Watch our climate policy chaos digital town hall meeting as Gavan McFadzean – ACF Climate Change Campaign Manager, Matt Rose – Economist, and Kathryn McCallum – Communications and Mobilisation Manager deconstruct the situation and what the ACF Community can do.

In the online meeting we discuss what to do next:

Join the mass call action to Bill Shorten to tell him to lead with courage and vision to cut pollution and support clean energy.

We must make sure Andy Vesey doesn’t cave into pressure from Malcolm Turnbull to keep dirty Liddell coal fired power station open. Send Andy an email now to tell him to stick to his guns and close Liddell.

Look out for an email next week on how you can pressure your car association – like the RACV or NRMA – to make a big difference on pollution.

Sign the Repower petition to tell our elected representatives we want a sun-powered country.

Donate to support ACF's campaign to Repower Australia with clean energy harvested from the sun and wind.

Become an ACF member to be at the heart of our democracy.
