In the next few weeks, the Turnbull government could hand over $1 billion of public money to prop up Adani’s giant polluting megamine.
ACF supporter Sharon France thinks this is an outrageous use of public money, so she's come up with the Australian People's Bank of Better Ideas.
Sharon recalls, "I literally woke up one morning thinking, 'If everyone could spend $1 billion on something beneficial, what would they fund? Certainly not a loan to a billionaire for a coal mine.'"
We’re helping Sharon gather ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public money.
When all your ideas are in, Sharon will send a report highlighting the most popular and creative suggestions to our Prime Minister.
Australians don't want their public money used to prop up Adani's giant coalmine. Our elected representatives have the choice to invest in public good, not private greed.
So what are your ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public funds?

There is a lots of way a billion dollars could be spend however, the important part is that no taxpayers money are submitted to the project let alone the uncertainty for the company to finance building the mine, seems to have a bad reputation and ofcoursr then there is the reef

Put the money into developing renewable technology. We could be world leaders in this. Why can Germany be so far ahead with less sunshine to capitalise on? Wake leave filthy coal in the ground and save the Great Barrier Reef. Adana can only be the nail in the coffin for it and us all.
Invest in achieving an alternate small house or expandiable for industry solar system that is no dearer than putting in poles and wires and make all new development comply. Put enough money curing cancer. Put enough money into education bring back free education not just the rich. Put money into developing projects with First Nations peoples on their lands rather than selling to foreigners and them poisoning us for eternity and taking profits overseas. There are so many things. Put the money into stopping greedy developers and politicians making these decisions that are killing us. BUT DO NOT LET ADANI have this money nor our soils. They have already breached their environmental conditions during cyclone Debbie is that not enough to tell these politicians something are they that dumb?? Our reef is worth a trillion times more than the Indian coal revenues to Government and the meager jobs. What are jobs when we are killing our country. There are cleaner jobs that need supporting and funding.
Build up Queenslands renewable capacity. Solar for day time thermal for night time. BZE have a workable idea and this would create more jobs than the 1500 that might be created by the Adani mine.
Invest in renewable energy!
Spend on getting our kids smarter so we can have a gerneration that may not follow in parents/grandparents footsteps on unemployment /disability payments. Make our kids want to learn and earn money. Be they black or white make them proud to be Australian as a whole. Together all the way !!!😊
Build solar energy. It is a no brainer

Help the indigenous with health needs, help pensioner’s by giving them a pay rise, they are always being told to tighten their belts. Building or taking over a building for the homeless. Education, new railway north coast to Sydney.
Repair all the damage to the environment left from mining, fracking, climate change. Etc. help our native animals and creatures by fixing and regenerating their habitats. Invest in renewables.
Build accommodation and housing for the homeless
Firstly, I dont think I have to go through all the reasons why its not a good idea. THEY already know, and they dont want people like us making their road rocky. and stirring up their camp. Thats all!!!
Oh my goodness there are sooo many ways – pay off some of that debt that you guys were banging on about at the election. More money for hospitals, schools, aged care, NBN, environment and that does not mean ADANI!!!! Australians are not happy with this PM – your party should be ashamed – history will judge.
Hospitals, public education, homeless Australian people, clean energy
House the homeless, increase the age pension, help our farmers, employ more trained health professionals etc etc. Could go on…..
Implement the full Gonski.
Seriously this is just crazy. If the project was valid you would not be doing this. Why are you wishing to put a corrupt venal Indian company on Australian social security and tell us it is for our benefit..
