In the next few weeks, the Turnbull government could hand over $1 billion of public money to prop up Adani’s giant polluting megamine.

ACF supporter Sharon France thinks this is an outrageous use of public money, so she's come up with the Australian People's Bank of Better Ideas.

Sharon recalls, "I literally woke up one morning thinking, 'If everyone could spend $1 billion on something beneficial, what would they fund? Certainly not a loan to a billionaire for a coal mine.'"

We’re helping Sharon gather ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public money.

When all your ideas are in, Sharon will send a report highlighting the most popular and creative suggestions to our Prime Minister.

Australians don't want their public money used to prop up Adani's giant coalmine. Our elected representatives have the choice to invest in public good, not private greed.

So what are your ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public funds?

To get more involved in Sharon's creative action, download the Better Ideas for a Billion Dollars action pack or visit her blog post to learn more.

1Billion $ would train a hell of a lot of young people ,so they stand a better chance of getting work . On the other hand it could help companies take on young people of Australian nationality

What about Health care, m3ntql health support etc
What about the Education system it could nationalised – equality across the board.
What about support for increase in pensions so people are not living on or below the poverty line.
What about jobs for our youth and older people…..surely the pople of AUstralia matter.

I think a billion dollars could easily be spent on accommodation for low income and disadvantaged people..homes are desperately needed for so many people. We need to be part of the solution and not the problem. Adani plans on doing irreversible damage to our environment!

1. Take all the refugees from Manus Island and Nauru and resettle them in Australia, supplying housing, medical care and education. In compensation for their appalling suffering,, offer to bring their immediate families here as well

This money will be better used towards renewable energy. As for Adelaide’s power failure, was due to a very severe storm. So don’t even think subsidising Adani. Stop destroying animal and Aboriginal habitats and our Barrier Reef. These are “just surviving”: lets not allow Adani to throw the last stone.

It is shocking that the Govt would even consider giving $1billion to Adani!
Our hospitals & schools need far more funding to provide quality care and education. Aged pensioners, the thousands of homeless and low income families must receive better than the pittance they are getting. How dare you give tax payers’ money to a company known to have destroyed environments and not done enough to make reparations to the communities. What an appalling legacy the Govt is prepared to leave future generations!

Public housing, Public education,
Public universities, Public health.
These monies are to be spend on the Australian People, does the reason we pay taxes to take care of the citizens and their needs.
Why don’t you , Turnbull, put the hand in you your pocket. You have no right to waste or misuse
The Public Purse.
