In the next few weeks, the Turnbull government could hand over $1 billion of public money to prop up Adani’s giant polluting megamine.
ACF supporter Sharon France thinks this is an outrageous use of public money, so she's come up with the Australian People's Bank of Better Ideas.
Sharon recalls, "I literally woke up one morning thinking, 'If everyone could spend $1 billion on something beneficial, what would they fund? Certainly not a loan to a billionaire for a coal mine.'"
We’re helping Sharon gather ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public money.
When all your ideas are in, Sharon will send a report highlighting the most popular and creative suggestions to our Prime Minister.
Australians don't want their public money used to prop up Adani's giant coalmine. Our elected representatives have the choice to invest in public good, not private greed.
So what are your ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public funds?

Dear Mr Turnbull,
While I’d much rather see this huge amount of money invested in renewable energy, I don’t believe our governments – state, federal, of either main parties have the guts to take the initiative like Germany or even Costa Rica, so therefore I would hope that you would see the benefit in investing this money in the lives of people with disability who really desperately want jobs – real ones in open employment for real award wages. This must be supported by allowing people initially to have support to do the job, and to not fail them when or if the job is unsuitable for they will find the right workplace if given the opportunity to try and not lose the safety net of the DSP… It won’t be the people who fail but most likely the employer and Discrimination in the workplace.
But I dare you to take the initiative and be different and not just follow the usual LNP blueprint.
Sincerely,
More teachers aids and support stuff in primary schools and science teachers in high schools – that will employ more people and protect the environment.
If $1billion was invested in all areas of solar panel and battery production we could employ more people than a coal mine, grow small business, prevent further pollution, save our water, make solar more affordable, save the environment and make people happy.
