In the next few weeks, the Turnbull government could hand over $1 billion of public money to prop up Adani’s giant polluting megamine.
ACF supporter Sharon France thinks this is an outrageous use of public money, so she's come up with the Australian People's Bank of Better Ideas.
Sharon recalls, "I literally woke up one morning thinking, 'If everyone could spend $1 billion on something beneficial, what would they fund? Certainly not a loan to a billionaire for a coal mine.'"
We’re helping Sharon gather ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public money.
When all your ideas are in, Sharon will send a report highlighting the most popular and creative suggestions to our Prime Minister.
Australians don't want their public money used to prop up Adani's giant coalmine. Our elected representatives have the choice to invest in public good, not private greed.
So what are your ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public funds?

Renewables is where this money should be used!
Spend it on the conservation of our beautiful natural bush ,rainforest and reefs at the same time saving the animals that live there .
Let’s use the schmillion bucks to invest in transition from a coal economy as quickly as possible. This means encouraging alternative jobs, supporting renewable energy sources, phasing out dependence on coking coal, recycling more ‘old steel’ and reducing our dependence on steel. This transition is inevitable and our government should be offering the necessary incentives for R & D, instead of trying to update existing fossil fuel technologies. Same goes for the internal combustion engine running on petroleum. Get progressive, invest in healthy, ethical and socially responsible innovation. Now that’s a real vote winner. Educate the dinosaurs and get them working for the planet!
The billion should go to schools and children’s education. That will build us a better nation.
Throw in free meals for those children whose parents are living below the poverty line because of your disgusting treatment of social security recipients.
$1 billion dollars would be better invested in renewable energy which help continue to create jobs and upskill workers in a dying industry of coal.
Funding renewable energy as part of a dedicated plan to eliminate energy emissions by 2050, and funding a national grid to support this.
Investment in sustainable energy…like Germany and Holland
Given that globally countries are moving away from coal this would be a financially error let alone an environmental one to make
Renew able energy…….obviously
Fix the reef..please dont destroy it anymore
Renewable energy technologies and infrastructure development
Ask our First Nations elders how they would spend the money – how about providing services to isolated communities to bring their living standards up to mainstream communities ensuring ALL rural communities have easy access to high quality education, health and employment.

The growth and population in Australia is quickly outgrowing infrastructure. Put money into Australia, not an Indian billionaire’s pocket. 😡
Time well overdue to utilise renewable energies, as our land and water are being destoyed with coal, a 2 century outdated product, we have progressed so begin caring about the earth and not money. Many jobs in renewable energy.
That 1 billion dollars could be used to support people inovating new renewable sources and provide jobs in renewables. Please listen to us, Australia is more than a mine.
Thankyou

The money could be used for education, hospitals or public housing.
Invest in renewables, research into management of micro plastics, rehabilitation of previous coal mining sites, invest in carbon capture sinks through reforestation.
Schools, Hospitals, Children in out of home care, Aboriginal alcohol issues , funding the DIS, Forcing clean up after mining, it goes on……

It must be treated as a national crisis. Almost one murdered woman each week ? Shameful.
Invest in renewable energies. Be clever, not stupid.
