Now will you amplify your impact by posting on their Facebook page?

Siemens is a global brand and is very sensitive to public criticism.

Comment on any Siemens’ post, asking them to rule out working with Adani (the post where Siemens shares their dream to 'make cities more livable, industry more efficient and society more sustainable' would be a good one to comment on – that vision doesn’t align with supporting coal projects, does it?!)

Tips for your Facebook comment:

  • Keep it short and punchy – people (including from Siemens!) are more likely to read a shorter post than a really long one
  • Have a clear ask – ask Siemens to rule out working with Adani
  • Make it personal – after all, this is your message to Siemens! Make it unique to you. You might want to share why you care about stopping projects that will fuel climate damage, like Adani, and protecting our planet

An international embarrassment and poor environmental and business choice for any company that facilitates the Adani coal mine in Australia.

Please explain to the world. How a good global citizen as Siemens gets its hands dirty in helping to develop Adani’s coal mine adding to danger of our planet.

Siemens – the company that fast tracks climate change. Hop aboard for a quick ride to a bleak future

Siemens Australia has signed on to install the rail signalling for Adani’s climate-wrecking mine.
Only a few companies can do this work and, other than Siemens, they have all refused. Adani could have been left in the lurch. But Siemens are propping up Adani and its mine!
Climate damage is happening right now! Bushfires are ripping up our east coast. Smoke is suffocating Sydney.

HOW COULD YOU SELL OUT OUR GRANDCHILDREN’S AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN’S FUTURE. Shame on you allowing greed to rule sensibility. Un Australian that is what your company is. How dare you allow greed to support Adarni. How dare you support this foreign company that will dig a humongous hole in our Queensland countryside. They’ll destroy the environment here and return to their country to keep adding to the pollution and be adding to the climate change. What is it to be…greed or a future for our children’s children, a future for Australia and a future for the world.

We are profoundly disappointed that such a respected brand as Siemens has chosen to support Adani build its mine.
Regarding your stated values, you claim that you are “committed to ethical and responsible actions”. Really?

I told them to reverse their decision . Please do the same

I’ve emailed and commented. I feel tired and disgusted. I really had some hope that they would reverse their decision. Money is indeed the root of all evil.

I used to respect Siemens as a company who cared for our planet, now with their support for the Adani Coal Mine in Queensland Australia, I realise all that respect was unwarranted as Siemens supports a company that is going to increase the Global Warming Rate. Shame Siemens Shame.

I requested that Siemens not associate with this destructive company.

It has been proven by Australia’s own government department, the CSIRO, that the entire planet could be powered by a 1000 klm grid of solar reflectors. They solved the battery problem with ammonia. Heated ammonia turns into two chemicals. Mix the 2 chemicals back together and you get back the heat and the ammonia. Hey presto, a battery. This was solved in 2004! What excuse do you have now?

Totally Disgusted that they have sold out.
This Company has a history of environment damage and not paying fines for breaches.
You have sold out Australia for a few jobs

You should be ashamed to be complicit in the climate wrecking coal mine development Adani plans. We have koalas screaming and dying in thousands in our bushfires. How can you possibly claim ANY climate credentials?
Deborah 2019-12-12 20:24:27 +1100
I will never purchase another Siemens product for as long as I live.
Brian 2019-12-12 20:24:03 +1100
I am disgusted that Siemens is supporting Adani. As a global community we need companies to support the move to clean energy alternatives.
Australia is suffering rampant bushfires as a result of climate change, Siemens cannot in good conscience support coal mining. Please do the right thing and withdraw your support now.

You care about your kids (born or unborn) or other young people you love? If yes, do the right thing. It’s pretty simple if you get your priorities right.

Your decision to take on the Adani job amounts to insanity, and should be swiftly reversed in order to maintain any public trust in Siemens whatsoever.

Your “contribution to reduce CO2 emissions” means NOTHING when you choose on the other hand to enable the creation of a mega-mine that will contribute directly to the climate crisis at a time when OUR COUNTRY IS BURNING.

There is NO “transition to a low carbon future”, because the science and the planet DEMAND a low carbon PRESENT. There is no time; we must take drastic action immediately to reduce emissions, not announce commitments to do something ‘some time in the future’.

In Australia, we have something called a ‘pub test’, and this decision does not pass. Australia is watching Siemens, while our houses burn, and asking why you think that that is ok.

I’ll be posting your disastrous choice to support Adani on my Facebook wall and letting everyone know just how little corporate responsibility Siemens has shown today.

CEO Joe Kaeser,
I’m shocked and saddened that your company has decided to install rail signalling for Adani’s climate-wrecking mine in Queensland. How can any responsible decent people and organisations do such a thing? Nearly all the world’s climate scientists say that the world is experiencing a climate emergency. We must act now and start reducing GHG emissions in 2020 for the chance of a safe climate future and you are acting in opposition to this! More than 61 major companies have ruled out working with Adani but you have decided to do so. Why? The Galilee Basin – where Adani will build its mine – is one of the world’s largest proposed coal mining expansions. Digging and burning coal is the biggest driver of climate damage. Be decent and pull out of this venture.

Yours sincerely,
Marguerite Marshall

Dear Sirs,
I wish to congratulate you on taking on this signalling work on the Adani mine in Australia. I do believe we need to reduce our reliance on coal into the future, but we cannot live at the level we are living at now and expect not to use coal.

I am an Australian citizen and a member of the Australian Conservation Foundation, but I wish to differ from the ACF on this issue.

Yours sincerely,
Shane Smith
