Now will you amplify your impact by posting on their Facebook page?

Siemens is a global brand and is very sensitive to public criticism.

Comment on any Siemens’ post, asking them to rule out working with Adani (the post where Siemens shares their dream to 'make cities more livable, industry more efficient and society more sustainable' would be a good one to comment on – that vision doesn’t align with supporting coal projects, does it?!)

Tips for your Facebook comment:

  • Keep it short and punchy – people (including from Siemens!) are more likely to read a shorter post than a really long one
  • Have a clear ask – ask Siemens to rule out working with Adani
  • Make it personal – after all, this is your message to Siemens! Make it unique to you. You might want to share why you care about stopping projects that will fuel climate damage, like Adani, and protecting our planet

Please stop your work with Adani to help preserve the planet. Coal is a mistake of the past and more prudent investment would include renewables such as zero energy or water splitting.

This is not the actions of a company that values its corporate image. Its counter productive and irresponsible unlike the company it once was. What a shame to put profit and greed ahead of the planet.

Siemens have no credibility in making a decision to aid Adani mines. The science is irrefutable about the causes of climate change. The changes appear to be escalating more than was predicted.
Whilst my country burns Siemens looks away.
Siemens will be a global pariah for evermore

I wrote to Joe Kaeser, CEO of Adani, admonishing him for working with Adani’s climate destroying coal mining project. This is contrary with Siemen’s vision to make society more sustainable.

I am shocked that Siemens Australia can be so hypocritical – claiming to be devoted to sustainability BUT then signing a contract to help Adani build their climate wrecking mega coal mine in Queensland Australia.

New South Wales Australia is currently being devastated by the biggest bushfires on record. A much bigger area has been burnt that in the Amazon rainforest this year.

Scientists say climate change the biggest factor in the current drought and the most intense and extensive fires ever recorded. The last thing we need is more CO2 being emitted by this catastrophic Adani mega mine.

Surely this decision to support Adani can be reversed.

Siemens has today come close to destroying its own high reputation! By supporting Adani’s push to create a large new coal mine it is helping to accelerate the growing climate crisis. All of the repetitive comments by Siemens have done nothing to convince me that it is taking a responsible course of action. The burning of coal must be phased out in a gradual, responsible way, but as quickly as practicable. A large new coal mine cannot in any way be construed to be a responsible approach.

Zuzu Burford This is the same company that used Prisoners around 1944 working at a Siemens factory in KZ Bobrek, a subcamp of Auschwitz concentration camp. So much for an ethical company. Go to Wiki for more on this company’s dealing with the Nazi party

Tom Pratt Your “holistic approach” suggests that you are meeting environmental targets elsewhere with a “nett overall reduction” It isn’t good enough to choose areas where you exceed environmental targets to offset those where you don’t. A simple approach by you to disguise the fact that this mine can only result in damage to the environment whilst you make a quick buck. Pull the plug on the deal now.

As a citizen of Australia, I am writing to you to express my SHOCK AND DISMAY that Siemens Australia has agreed to work with Adani to install the rail signalling for Adani’s huge coal mine in Queensland.

Adani’s new coal mine – opening up one of the largest untapped coal reserves in the world – will hasten global warming and be disastrous for Australia. We are currently in a climate crisis. Bushfires are raging along our east coast, and smoke is suffocating Sydney.

The Adani coal mine will guzzle water, at a time when Australia is suffering from a prolonged and severe drought. Already some townships have run out of water and are having it trucked in, for survival. Farmers are going bankrupt and their stock dying from lack of water. Whole ecosystems are threatened and native wildlife is endangered.

Adani has already illegally polluted our Great Barrier Reef, which we are desperately trying to save as half of it has already died.

Adani Power hasn’t made money for a decade. They are not generating enough money to cover their interest payments, let alone their debt. Their parent company Adani Enterprises Ltd has agreed to provide financial support for only 12 months. No financial institution has been willing to provide Adani financing for the project, and sixteen insurers have ruled out insuring the project.

Apart from Siemens, all the other companies that could have done Adani’s signalling work have refused. If Siemens had also refused, the Adani mine could not go ahead. But instead your company chose to betray Australia, and become complicit in the climate crisis.

Like all the other companies who said no, Siemens too should put the wellbeing of people, nature and wildlife first.

Does your company really want to go down this destructive path?

Yours sincerely,
Marion Gray

Please don’t go down in history as the company who helped Adani raise CO2 which sends Australia into further fires and drought!
Be a business worrier and start building in the renewable sector as this is where the future money is.
