Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_StripedLeglessLizard.jpg

Nowadays, these sleek little critters are legless – but they weren’t always. Through evolution, their front legs disappeared completely and their back legs ended up just small scaly protrusions. But they can still jump 30 centimetres into the air!

But Legless Lizards can’t outrun the destruction of their habitat.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

Our native animals are suffering more and more as their native habitat becomes less and less. We need to work together and work something out sooner rather than later.

Lizards and other similar animals suffer terribly as a result of fear – ppl kill them unneccessarily. They do not need to lose their habitat as well.

Australia has one of the world’s worst records for mammal extinction.
The striped legless lizard (Delma impar), is endangered in SA, vulnerable in ACT and NSW, and threatened in Victoria.
Farming and urban development are the reasons for its habitat loss. It now lives in native tussock grasslands in Victoria, NSW and the ACT.
This is in your court. You are the decision makers.
You decide whether a species is eradicated.
Educate people about this animal and secure its existing habitat.

All creatures are so important. This one may not be cute and cuddly, but it is as important as all others. Don’t let it die out due to ignorance, indifference, and inaction

Australia’s diverse animals are something we should be proud of. Don’t let them disappear.

Dear Sir,
We are in the midst of an extinction crisis. Every time we stand by and allow more clearing of native vegetation, whether for farming, logging or mining, we push more of our fellow creatures closer to the edge. And since the environment is a complex system, and we’re part of the environment, we’re pushing ourselves closer to the edge.
Please, stand up for stronger laws to protect the environment, and all of us who are part of it. Take it to your party. Take it to your leader. Make your party the party who protects us, not the one who destroys our future.
Yours sincerely,
Peter Falconer

Legless lizards are small, defenceless creatures that enhance our environment and are in danger of becoming extinct.

Stop bulldozing. We don’t need more people. We need more striped legless lizards. They’re kinder to the planet than we are.

These animals (and others) are native fauna to our area. Other species rely upon them and are also at risk. They need to be looked after and have attention brought to them as they cannot speak for themselves. What will will you do to help out local fauna and flora at risk ? Will you place development and profit over moral rights. Just imagine if your home was torn away, your family killed, and your neighbors missing. The shops are all gone and you can’t eat. You cant really sleep properly and you feel hunted. …….
Well that is how animals feel when their habitats are taken from them. Lost, lonely, hungry, injured, cold, and even dead.
Who will help the animals ?
We can together. I can help you. We can all make a difference. And helping is what everyone should do for each other and for those who are at risk.

Stop logging and stop it now, thousands of Australia creatures die and are slaughtered by this practise and the country is being exploited for money that does nothing for anyone living here, we are eating our children, stop it now.
