Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_SouthernBlueWhale.jpg

Southern blue whales are truly enormous. Their hearts are the size of a small car and their heartbeats can be detected 3 kilometres away. They sing to each other in our vast oceans, where their whale songs are like low rippling earthquakes.

But they’re threatened by chemical and sound pollution, habitat loss, fishing, and climate change.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

I’ve been petitioning for “saving the whales” & writing to politicians since I was 10 years old. 40 years later, I’m still doing the same thing….Enough already…do something serious…

Too often, environmental concerns are related only to how the human race is affected. However, the richness of biodiversity with our flora and fauna enables us to survive and thrive as humans. (Think what would happen without bees!) The species we are privileged to co exist with need to be protected and respected. Perhaps Australia can set an example to the rest of our planet by preserving natural habitats…rather than chasing the dollars associated with “concrete and progress”. Tourism in Australia would increase because of our preserved natural habitats and native flora and fauna. For our children and grandchildrens sake, we need to respect and protect our environment and all that lives with in it

We need to protect these creatures for our future generations. Stop taking the easy route and stand up for something greater then yourself! Be a member of parliament for the people instead of the money. Please!

Southern Blue Whales face adversity from all directions. Air pollution, plastics and discarded nets in the ocean, and hunting. These are truly iconic creatures. It is our guardianship responsibility to protect wildlife, fauna and their habitat. Please do not let more extinctions to occur due to apathy. Take action now to legislate for strong environmental laws to protect what is left. Extinction is forever. Thank you for your your considered attention and action.

Just remember that we depend on the diversity of wildlife, not only for the beauty but really for the functioning of the world, there are so many details that we don’t know of that make it all function so well, it is always a bad idea to tamper with it.

We need stronger environmental laws to protect beautiful native Australian animals. Please make sure that our laws protect our native fauna and flora from endangerment, extinction, and destruction.

If we allow the continued destruction of critical habitat resulting in the extinction of so many species we will be the disgrace of the future. We will go down in history as the generation that failed to coexist peacefully and respectfully with our natural environment and, in our greed and disregard for consequence, denied our fellow inhabitants their right to exist

These gorgeous creatures are in danger, they bring tourist from within australia & from around the world, who want to view them in their natural habit. They bring tourist $ to many regions. It is shameful that we do not fight for their existance. Your children & their children will never see them. This is disgraceful

We have such beautiful and unique wildlife in Australia, and yet it seems the governments here aren’t willing to do what needs to be done to ensure the survival of our amazing wildlife or our environment. We need to protect what we have now – “later” will be too late.

Please do all you can to protect the Southern Blue Whale and other species vulnerable to the effects of us (man) on our natural environment! I want a world where our children can enjoy the natural world because we decided to lower our footprint on our fragile environment and it’s many inhabitants.
