Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_SouthernBlueWhale.jpg

Southern blue whales are truly enormous. Their hearts are the size of a small car and their heartbeats can be detected 3 kilometres away. They sing to each other in our vast oceans, where their whale songs are like low rippling earthquakes.

But they’re threatened by chemical and sound pollution, habitat loss, fishing, and climate change.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

We need stronger environment laws because our environment is at risk of extinction with all its beauty including its creatures – big and small.

“We do not inherit the land from our ancestors, but borrow it from our children.” Strengthen our environmental laws, so there will be a land. The children are stirring: don’t rob them of nature’s wonders.

Dear Member of Parliament,
Please do the right thing. We need you to create laws that protect the environment, and not support practices that destroy it.
Respectfully,

We need stronger environmental laws.
Logging companies are razing forests.
Oil and gas corporations are deafening with their seismic blasting.
Coal barons are cooking our climate and defrosting icy mountain-top homes.
Creatures and their families are part of our fragile web of life.
They (nearly two thousand different species that are at risk of extinction) cannot go to Parliament House to demand protection so its up to you & me to speak out for them

Please toughen up our environment laws and help to protect this incredibly amazing animal. We are to blame for the destruction of this planet and need to start salvaging it and all creatures living here now before it’s too late!

This is getting beyond ridiculous.
There’s going to be a time where somebody wakes up and realises that what we’re dealing with is far bigger than previously thought. You probably get messages like this all the time, and probably from students, but as a university student studying zoology and botany I place great importance on the biodiversity and lives of every single animal. PLEASE HELP STOP THE DEFORESTATION AND HABITAT DESTRUCTION !! PLEEAASE JUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT THIS AND IF ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS MONEY AND VOTES, THERE ARE SO MANY WAYS TO GET MORE MONEY AND MORE VOTES OFF THIS!!! JUST. DO. IT. I KNOW YOU CAN DUDE GET UP AND DO IT THESE THINGS ARE INCREDIBLE !! DO YOU WANT TO DIE BEING LIKE EVERY OTHER MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT OR DO YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT CONTRIBUTING TO ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS OUR EARTH IS FACING!??! DOOOO IT PLEASEEE !! HELP US SAVE THE BLUE WHALE AND EVERY OTHER ANIMAL SUFFERING FROM THIS!! Look at those blue whales. They’re DOPE they’re huge and they’re literally the biggest animal and you’ve got one of the closer voices to try and do something about it!! You got it, I believe in you homie.

I am seeing the oceans and bays where I live being slated for destruction by industry- such as hydrogen for Japan ( great- we burn the brown coal for Japan to get it’s clean Hydrogen energy… !!!! Crazy business! ) and gas import jetties….. It’s killing me to think that these precious places are being decimated. We swim with dolphins at our local each! They COME TO US…. in trust…. and show off their babies….. so special. WE NEED TO PROTECT our unique environments. NOW not later… Please raise this with your party leader. this is what we are voting for now. Heidi Trudinger

These beautiful blue whales need all the help we can give them. There is too much going against them at the moment so we need stricter environment laws to help them survive.

if we don’t act now , it will be too late. are we going to lose all of earths beautiful creatures.? for money? money wont buy them back, or clean water, or a clean environment for that matter.

Sound and chemical pollution are also detrimental to southern blue whales so robust national environment laws are essential. I saw a baby whale separated from its mother near Hobart because of sound from sonar and they shot the baby whale trapped in the port.

Scientists tell us we are living through a sixth extinction. What sort of a civilisation are we if we oversee an end to the environment which sustains all life? It is happening all around us, and yet we continue unthinkingly on this destructive path. We need strong national environment laws to protect our land and wildlife. Please raise awareness of this within your party.
