Queenslanders, our sunshine state has the tools and talent to become a renewable energy superpower – and shift away from digging and burning fossil fuels that drive climate impacts.
Ramping up climate solutions now will create long-term jobs in our regions, help restore our incredible forests and slash climate pollution this decade. But we need to act now or let the opportunity slip through our fingers.
Sign the petition. We need thousands of us to call on our state government to invest in the solutions and make Queensland a climate and nature champion. Together Queensland CAN!
For more information on how Queensland can slash pollution and create jobs in future industries this decade, see the brand new Queensland CAN! report commissioned by ACF, Queensland Conservation Council and World Wildlife Fund Australia.

Climate solutions create jobs
I want Queensland to be a climate and nature champion so that all our indigenous plant and animal species can survive and thrive without threat from human destruction,
We have to do better and fight to preserve our beautiful State and country for future generations. If we trash this planet there is no where else to go.
It is essential to protect the Barrier Reef, which can no longer be called The Great Barrier Reef; maintain our farms and protect bush lands from devastating fires
This is where I want to raise my family and please god have something left for my grandchildren!!!
I want Queensland to be a climate and nature champion because we all have an obligation to do our utmost to ameliorate the worst effects of climate change in order that future generations will inherit a planet that they and all other living things can continue to live on.
Queensland needs to take the positive step of becoming a great investor in a better future for both climate and nature. We need to stop opening up new fossil fuel sites and realising that a future with a greatly reduced reliance on these destructive practices is nothing to fear. In fact a sustainable future with nature and the climate put front and centre of policy agendas can provide a huge dividend to our state and its people through reduced pollution and thousands of new jobs. It just takes a commitment to want this better future and then to take the actions to make it so. There is literally no time to waste.
Come on QLD government. lets be leaders for a more renewable future. implement these teachings in our schools, Tafe’s and Uni’s and work places. lets make this a habit we do daily and not leave it up to anyone else. Kind regards Luke
I want Queensland to focus on sustainable climate solutions that provide jobs in clean energy (not coal or gas!), reduce pollution, stop endangering native animal and plant species, and which provide security and healthy living for future generations.
There is work underway in all present facets of renewable energy down to and including diets of cattle to reduce methane, we have such a wide base on which to grow, scientifically and practically. Let us show the rest of Australia that we can solve the problems created by fossil fuel use and replace it with renewable resources. We have the scientific know how, and bright scientists to solve problems which will arise. We just need the leadership and will to do it!!
