Queenslanders, our sunshine state has the tools and talent to become a renewable energy superpower – and shift away from digging and burning fossil fuels that drive climate impacts.
Ramping up climate solutions now will create long-term jobs in our regions, help restore our incredible forests and slash climate pollution this decade. But we need to act now or let the opportunity slip through our fingers.
Sign the petition. We need thousands of us to call on our state government to invest in the solutions and make Queensland a climate and nature champion. Together Queensland CAN!
For more information on how Queensland can slash pollution and create jobs in future industries this decade, see the brand new Queensland CAN! report commissioned by ACF, Queensland Conservation Council and World Wildlife Fund Australia.

Come on Queensland, stop expanding coal and gas. I want my grandchildren to have a survivable future. At present and with the QLD Government failing to plan for a transition away from fossil fuels their future looks catastrophic, and our politicians don’t have the guts to stand up to the fossil fuel companies and begin to shut them down…..
We all need to stand up for our natural environment. Without, we destroy our own lives!
I want to be better than the rest of the world (also so we don’t raise above 1.5C obviously).
QLD needs a better environmental reputation. We should aim to exceed other states in conservation and climate action. History is over.
Go big QLD – we have always punched above our weight let’s do it again. We could be renamed the ‘sustainable state’.
The survivable planet for future generations depends on urgent climate action now. We cannot afford fossil fuel extraction projects that would potentially cost the earth.
We won’t have a place to live if we don’t change our ways now.
We need to champion climate change initiatives and every aspect of nature conservation to ensure that future generations may continue to live and thrive in our Queensland paradise – and most importantly that our flora and fauna – especially endangered species such as the koala – continue to have ample habitat in which to survive and thrive for centuries to come. We need to act now and act decisively lest our iconic wildlife and habitats go the way of the Tasmanian tiger forever.
I want Qld to be a climate and nature champion, because I want a viable future for my son, and all the young people. I think Qld can become a leader and example of best practice for the rest of Australia and the Asia-Pacific in climate friendly climate resilient sustainable futures
It will help Qld Govt remain committed.
