Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web_GreaterGlider.jpg

Greater gliders are pretty extraordinary.

These peaceful possums live in leaf-lined hollows and spend their nights foraging high up in the forest canopies. They can glide 100 meters between trees!

But over decades, armies of bulldozers have charged through our forests, knocking down their homes. This must stop.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

Strong national environment laws are essential to protect our endangered wildlife for both our international reputation and for future generations of Australians.

Why on Earth are (most) humans so mindless and greedy and grasping – we tout how we are civilised and the smartest creatures on the planet – not so. Why do we let foreign multi-nationals into our country to own and produce from our lands – money – greasing the the hand that matters – the selfish acts of the people in positions to allow this, turning the blind eye so they can have more money is destroying our country and planet. the biodiversity of nature/wildlife is necessary and there for a reason. Why do the powers that be allow this to happen when the majority of the population rejects it. Why are we not practicing a democracy – not just saying we have one? Why is any other life disregarded and disrespected with zero conscience? MONEY. Pretty sad and sickening.
Please stand up and represent the other lives on this planet that are unable to defend themselves. Please be respectful to life – all kind

We need laws to STOP companies destroying OUR precious country and all the animals that belong here. Every living creature that is native to OUR country has a part to play in OUR eco-system. Please listen to the need and be the change!

The NSW government has recently enacted laws that encourage broadscale land clearing by farmers and is currently opening more state forests to logging. Along with the Koala, many of our unique native species are in danger of extinction due to habitat loss.
I encourage you to stand up for our environment

Please value and pt in place mechanisms to protect our precious wildlife , which is unique to Australia. Don’t allow clearing of their habitat for short term gain. Future generations will be so grateful for your thoughtful, respectful legacy. Money cannot bring life back to these creatures. Thank you for your time.

Piece by piece our natural environment is being pulled apart by short term industries wanting to grab their money & leave desolation behind.
These creatures have no voice. Please consider their future for the sake of our children & grandchildren.

Australia has lost more species since white settlement than anywhere else in the world. We claim to be a modern, compassionate first world democracy – how about we demonstrate that by NOT losing any more species!

We need laws that will stop companies destroying the habitat of precious creatures. Laws that will compel decision makers to make decisions that help, not harm, our living world. Laws that will give these creatures a voice.

Dear Gai
At the moment our generation is running the risk of being responsible for allowing/causing the most extinctions of species ever in Australia. The Glider needs more forest canopies, but successive governments are creating havoc and murder by uncontrolled logging.Governments need to act now to prevent more species dying out.

I despair at the wanton destruction of Australia’s unique natural environment and the impact on our native wildlife. We all need to stand up and protect it before its too late.

The environment is a life support- not only for humans but for all the creatures dependant on it. They depend on humans for their existence now – so please don’t play god with their lives. Give them a chance to continue existing on the planet.

The Greater Glider is a truly beautiful animal and it’s days are numbered if you, politician, continue to allow – either vocally or tacitly – land clearing. I am 10 years old and want to see the Greater Glider and I won’t be able to if you as an adult don’t act to save it and others. You are thinking about small things like money, instead of the bigger picture of our environment; our children and grandchildren. They will wonder at the possible existence of this creature if you continue to allow logging. Stop it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
