Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web_GreaterGlider.jpg

Greater gliders are pretty extraordinary.

These peaceful possums live in leaf-lined hollows and spend their nights foraging high up in the forest canopies. They can glide 100 meters between trees!

But over decades, armies of bulldozers have charged through our forests, knocking down their homes. This must stop.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

STOP allowing these beautiful creatures to disappear.
STOP protecting greedy developers and ridiculous profits.
STOP and think that when these creatures have gone IT WILL BE FOREVER. This is very important to me and millions of Australians. Discuss this with your party leader and contribute to protective national environment legislation. Soon it will be too late and you will have been part of the destruction of these magnificent creatures. Take a stand, do the right thing, you do have the power to do this.

Please stop the large tree felling, land clearance and mining to protect these beautiful creatures from extinction. Our environmental laws need to be more stringent.

We need to put an end to the mass destruction via clearing of Forrest and Bushland to protect these animals before they are gone forever.
Please make sure there is proper Legislation for the protection of the habitat of these highly endangered animals for future generations to enjoy.

I want future generations to know these beautiful and fragile creatures first hand not from a book or video. Please take action to protect their habitat otherwise we will lose them forever.

We only have one world to live in, and animals are just as much a part of that world as humans. We are driving the extinction of so many wonderful species through our destructive practices. We now know much better and we have developed more sustainable solutions. The era of fossil fuel derived energy and byproducts has passed. Let’s not continue to flog a dead horse. Let’s strive to develop and support a better cleaner future and invest in sustainable, regenerative technologies that improve the health of our planet and the species within it and not continue to destroy it.

We need laws that will stop companies destroying these
Greater Glider’s habitat. Laws that will compel decision makers to make decisions that help, not harm, our living world. Laws that will give these creatures a voice. Soon it will be too late and you will have been part of the destruction of these magnificent creatures. Take a stand, do the right thing. Please…..you have the power to do this.

For the protection of our rapidly diminishing native animals, stronger laws MUST be enforced lest we lose the lot

We can’t continue knocking down our rainforests. The trees are there to protect us and clean air as well as being a home to many species – especially the vulnerable Greater Glider. We have to find sustainable sources of wood and change our “throw away society” who want everything new.

Australia destroys more mammals than any other country. People from all over this planet come to Australia to see, and study our unique fauna and flora.
Gliders are in severe trouble due to their habitats being extinguished by corporations, developers and governments of little brains and foresight.

Thankyou for ensuring these animals will be here for generations to come, in their natural habitat.

Thankyou for be a saviour!

Increasingly it is assumed that our wonderful wildlife will simply move and adapt as natural areas are destroyed or disconnected.
This is just one of the more spectacular.
Why is it AND its habitat not protected?
Same applies across the country we claim to “love”, even in our national anthem.
But it is a lie as far as our wildlife is concerned.

Please make stronger laws to protect the Environment. At present there is still much forest clear felling, although there is some improvement. Tougher sanctions are needed in many areas.

Dear Mr Constance
It is imperative that you take action to protect our native species and their habitat. I will support a government that stops the logging of native forests and works to reduce the impact of invasive species. I will vote against an MP who fails to take such action.
Regards, Alison Reid

Environmental laws in this country need to be given urgent attention to protect all species such as The Greater Glider. Habitat destruction is causing this incredible creature to be at risk of extinction.
Extinction of species and loss of our natural world is happening on our watch. It is your voice that we need to hear in Parliament to strengthen environmental laws and to protect our vulnerable natural environment.
