Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web_GreaterGlider.jpg

Greater gliders are pretty extraordinary.

These peaceful possums live in leaf-lined hollows and spend their nights foraging high up in the forest canopies. They can glide 100 meters between trees!

But over decades, armies of bulldozers have charged through our forests, knocking down their homes. This must stop.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

This animal, which can glide for 100 metres between trees, is fast running out of trees to glide between. Please act to stop tree-clearing and the extinction of more species.

Too many Australian native creatures have become extinct in the last hundred years. This must STOP. Commercial SO CALLED development by land clearing and mining must not take precedence over protection of native creatures.

Humans are supposed to be smart. Instead of being responsible for making plants, animals & entire ecosystems extinct, we should be PROTECTING them instead. It’s time to step up for the future of the planet.

I am so saddened how little attention is paid to preserving our ecological diversity.
We are at a point in time where true altruism towards the planet is paramount.
We elect to power people who we truly believe will do what is right and not what will win them another term in office or a greater short term financial gain and yet
Australia holds the shocking record for being the statistically the worst nation in the world re fauna extinction.
Please restore my faith and protect what should be protected.

It is shameful that a first world country like Australia can’t or won’t protect its native wildlife and thus recklessly degrade the environment we inherited from the first settlers.

Hello,
Last month was the first time I had ever seen a Greater Glider at my home outside of Eumundi. I was so amazed and honoured to see this darling little animal in the rain and all its hair was wet. I did not know what it was!! Please help to protect this animal. Get back to me and we will work together to help save this glider. Perhaps a local campaign guided by your office?
Take care,
Susan Guy

Grave concern over the lack of interest and action by politicians to protect native wildlife from local, or total, extinction. Our actions have had a detrimental impact on wildlife and their habitats. As an intelligent society we can provide ourselves with the necessary resources we need without impacting negatively on others. This issue matters to me as much as our human based concerns.
We need to uphold and strengthen our national environment laws to protect these natural places and the wildlife that depends on them.

Conserving the complexity of life on this planet is important. But can only come about if it also benefits local human communities. This is possible, if there is the will to do so. Thank you for your time.

These endangered animals are rare and beautiful and only found in Australia. They are also on the verge of extinction. Australia has lost too many of its native fauna and we can’t afford to lose any more! Please save these beautiful, harmless animals.

Please prioritise the protection of these animals that can never be recovered once lost. Australia has such a lot of work to do to recognise the natural assets we have and how to conserve and maintain them for the future. We are counting on you.

These vulnerable possums are threatened with extinction through loss of habitat. Unable to speak for themselves, they need your protection: please speak up for land deforestation laws to be changed to protect their habitat.

We are close to wiping out our precious wildlife, they do not deserve this fate in their own habitat, humans are the problem, logging and land clearing must be stopped if they are to have a future, they do not have a say in their destruction, politicians can protect them. No forests, no wildlife for future generations.
