Post on Siemens' Facebook page! Then comment here to let us know you've taken action.

Now will you amplify your impact by posting on their Facebook page?

Siemens is a global brand and is very sensitive to public criticism.

Comment on any Siemens’ post, asking them to rule out working with Adani (the post where Siemens shares their dream to 'make cities more livable, industry more efficient and society more sustainable' would be a good one to comment on – that vision doesn’t align with supporting coal projects, does it?!)

Tips for your Facebook comment:

  • Keep it short and punchy – people (including from Siemens!) are more likely to read a shorter post than a really long one
  • Have a clear ask – ask Siemens to rule out working with Adani
  • Make it personal – after all, this is your message to Siemens! Make it unique to you. You might want to share why you care about stopping projects that will fuel climate damage, like Adani, and protecting our planet

Pathetic decision to engage with Adani! Did you not see the 4 corners report on how corrupt and destructive this company is?!
This is OUR Country and destroying it for your profits is appalling!
We should not be opening New Fossil Fuel plants let alone one that destroys OUR Barrier Reef, Our water supply, Our land, Our Indigenous Culture. I hope the German people are pressuring you as mush as we are – how dare you destroy Our Country!
Siemens and the Aust Gvt who have allowed this project to proceed should not only be ashamed, they should be jailed for crimes against humanity!

Dear Mr Joe Kaeser,

WOW just WOW – Here is an example of a company that has no strategic compass let alone a moral high ground or planning for the future. Banks and insurance companies won’t touch coal anymore here in Australia but yet, your global company has. You have on your home webpage, three statements or rather banners:

• Sustainability follows our company ’Values’
• Awarded Adami Carmical Coal Mine Project
• Murchison Renewable Hydrogen Project.

If any spokesman mentions jobs, ill throttle him. Due to the high tech nature of this mine there will be no more jobs as its primary goal is to be automated. What jobs will be affected are the thousands of tourism jobs that this mine and the others to follow will kill by finally finishing of the reef amongst other natural wonders in the area.

If your company policy really is about SUSTAINABILITY why are you not championing the role of renewable energy which is the tech of the future? In this decision you are showing the world that you are not a company of the future and therefore, from a financial position, not a good investment. Maybe this is a message you’ll respond to as you don’t seem to care about the vast swell of opinion towards this mine, in this country let alone the global opinion of fossil fuels!

You are right however, there is no single pathway that is appropriate for every country’s emission reduction efforts. However we are the world’s largest exporter of coal. This country in short order, could go fossil fuel free if it had the political will. We could also be the world’s largest exporter of renewable energy, helping those countries without the ability, if tech firms such as yourself got onboard and focused on the long term issues. I will no longer be a customer of yours.

I really hope the Adami Mine is not your legacy as CEO, because how would you explain that to your family? Now I know that you will never read this message but hopefully others will and together we may achieve something to stop you and this mine.

Yours sincerely

CEO Siemens.
Mr Joe Kaeser,
If the Adani mine goes ahead in the Gallalee Basin Queensland , Australia it will seriously exacerbate the ravishing effects of climate change in Australia and the rest of the world. This will tarnish the reputation of Siemens and all those associated with this world damaging project.

Hello Joe,

You had an opportunity to show your commitment to positive climate actions by refusing Adani and investing instead in renewable sustainable energy.

Fire civilised human, coal industrialised us, now is the time for a new type of power to take us into a newer, greener, sustainable energy of the future. Become a partner of the future energy, not coal and Adani.

I will not buy another Siemens product until you do.

Yours sincerely,
Jeanne Stern

Do NOT support Adani….. you will be remembered for doing this. See my note to Joe Kaeser for confirmation of the views of a lot of people in Australia!

Half the country is dry and in desperate need of water. The other half is dry and in desperate need of water. Oh, and it’s on fire with not much in the way of stopping it. With bushland burned in an area much much larger than the amazon including ancient rainforests in the north that would normally act as a barrier to fire. These days it’s becoming harder to turn a blind eye and this decision to assist in a project that will only add fuel to the fire, figuratively and literally, is a show of complete ignorance.

This is an article from only 9 hours ago saying that Sydney will run out of water if nothing is done to minimise usage and there are many more like it. Look at the world we live in. Do you want to be seen as a contributor to the problem? Or will you be a part of the solution?

It is with much disappointment that I have recently learnt that Siemens is supporting Adain by supplying and installing signalling for the Adani rail project. As a ‘senior’ biochemist and long-time supporter of Siemens laboratory and medical equipment, I find this latest announcement particularly alarming. As a global company, Siemens should be able to take a more global view of the future. My on-going support for Siemens has been severely diminished.
Ian 2019-12-13 10:39:29 +1100
Please witform the rail signaling contract with Adani as this will enable them to develop their proposed mega mine for steaming coal and will facilitate another 2 similar mines reducing the global price of steaming coal and extending the life of thermal power stations. You will be doing exactly what the IPPC says we MUST NOT do. In addition you will be destroying the artesian water system in the area depriving the local farming community of water and trampling the rights of the local native people i.e. your actions will be similar to those of the old German empire when they ethnically cleansed the Hotentots

Enabling more coal mining is enabling climate change. It is an act unworthy of a world renowned company and will put you on the blacklist.

Stephen 2019-12-13 10:35:50 +1100
Siemens, you have not read public opinion on this mine. Mining coal in an era of extreme climate change impacts is totally irresponsible and makes your company appear greedy and uncaring for the future of the environment, please drop your involvement in this ridiculous venture.

Acssociating with Adani is associating with corruption, lies and a company that ignores environmental agreements they have made.
Don’t associate with them you will irrevocably damage your reputation.

I have used Siemens products in the past, but never again. Humans are struggling with our last attempts to stop the destruction of our species, other species, and much of the life on this planet. And you assist a corrupt, greedy and unethical force of this destruction? Don’t you have children, don’t you respect a civilization that has taken millennia to develop, or just don’t you care? One day, there will be an international reckoning, and climate criminals and those complicit in their actions will be held to account. You may be one of them.
