Post on Siemens' Facebook page! Then comment here to let us know you've taken action.

Now will you amplify your impact by posting on their Facebook page?

Siemens is a global brand and is very sensitive to public criticism.

Comment on any Siemens’ post, asking them to rule out working with Adani (the post where Siemens shares their dream to 'make cities more livable, industry more efficient and society more sustainable' would be a good one to comment on – that vision doesn’t align with supporting coal projects, does it?!)

Tips for your Facebook comment:

  • Keep it short and punchy – people (including from Siemens!) are more likely to read a shorter post than a really long one
  • Have a clear ask – ask Siemens to rule out working with Adani
  • Make it personal – after all, this is your message to Siemens! Make it unique to you. You might want to share why you care about stopping projects that will fuel climate damage, like Adani, and protecting our planet

Adani’s mine is something that should remain impossible for the sake of Life on Earth. Please don’t assist in another Holocaust.

I urge you to not do work for the Adani company, the last thing this earth and the animals on it, that includes us, needs is a new coal mine.

Supporting the Adani Coal Mine…is this what you call an “innovative solution”? Shame on you.

Please distance your company from the destructive Adani mine, and do not provide signalling for its railway line.

I am shocked and outraged that your company would get in bed with Adani when so many other companies have decided to value our environment and its people instead.
I implore you to reconsider this decision.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? Australia burns and you do this!

This is important and we, the little citizens do care. If we hurt the French economy back in the day (stopping them from nuclear testing in the Pacific), then we can hurt Siemens now.
It won’t “blow over”. We will remember.

Siemens can do better than this. Revoke the rail signalling Contract.

Remember THERE IS NO PLANET-B

I’ve emailed the CEO and commented on the FB page:

no amount of decarbonisation that you achieve will offset the environmental disaster that is the Adani Coal Mine. It doesn’t matter how rigorous the processes are or how strict the environmental controls that are required because Adani has proven over and over again that they don’t comply with the law, they simply create environmental disasters and pay off the regulator. No doubt there is a line item for paying fines – just a part of doing business from their perspective. And you have to ask what for? Not for jobs, the mine will be fully automated. Not for future economic prosperity, coal is a dying industry. Not for the Great Barrier Reef and its associated tourism industry. Not for the Galilee Basin. NOt for the farmers who are trying to survive unprecedented drought and fire, while Adani is allowed to take as much water as they like. So who is this for? Its for organisations like yours who just want to make short term gains at everyone else’s expense. Good luck for your brand as you stand beside Adani defending your part in this catastrophe. https://www.marineconservation.org.au/breaking-adani…/. https://adanifiles.com.au/. https://www.abc.net.au/…/adani-spent-a-year…/10090632. https://www.medianet.com.au/releases/167542/. https://www.acf.org.au/new_documents_show_pm_and…. https://www.sbs.com.au/…/mining-giant-adani-fined-for…. And the list goes on.

Wow,

You could be world leaders in innovation.
Instead you choose to invest in the demise of our planet.
Your decision to support this unfathomable and unethical project is :

Disappointing.
Lacking in leadership.
Irresponsible.
Reprehensible.
GREEDY and SHORT SIGHTED.

Yours sincerely,

The Galilee Basin – where Adani will build its mine – is one of the world’s largest proposed coal mining expansions. Digging and burning coal is the biggest driver of climate damage. And with bushfires, drought and heatwaves, Australians are feeling the damage, daily.

Shame on you Siemens.
Kate 2019-12-13 09:01:59 +1100
I asked them to think about what their grand children will be eating in their air-conditioned city abodes. Fresh food production is being severely impacted by climate change.

Susan Stanford This is on the wrong side of history! You can’t balance projects aimed at C02 reductionwith projects that support the continued use of fossil fuels in preference to renewables. Please reconsider. It is not too late for you!

How come Siemens supports the Adani mine when the Siemens stated position on Climate change is against it? Shame on Siemens

Not sure how you can claim to reduce CO2 emissions by supporting a coal mine that will not just contribute to more carbon but they are killing our land by selfishly using water that normally would feed communities, not to mention all the aquatic live already dead ☹️

Shame for selling out your children’s future for short term gains! Every prostitute has their price I suppose but what legacy are you leaving for future generations as well as our precious environment? No jobs on a dead planet!
Beatrice 2019-12-13 08:50:01 +1100
Siemens has made the terrible mistake of signing up to assist with the establishment of the Adani mine in Australia. It will suffer ongoing reputational damage as we pass the word around as to what they have done to facilitate the destruction of our environment both locally and globally.
Rosemary 2019-12-13 08:48:59 +1100
Dear Mr Kaeser,

The petitions and demonstrations have shown time and again Australians do not want this mine. Its damage will be irreversible to our landscape and the reef. We do not want precious water pumped out of our country for a coal mine. I please ask you to reconsider the intangibles before your boosted profits.
