In the next few weeks, the Turnbull government could hand over $1 billion of public money to prop up Adani’s giant polluting megamine.

ACF supporter Sharon France thinks this is an outrageous use of public money, so she's come up with the Australian People's Bank of Better Ideas.

Sharon recalls, "I literally woke up one morning thinking, 'If everyone could spend $1 billion on something beneficial, what would they fund? Certainly not a loan to a billionaire for a coal mine.'"

We’re helping Sharon gather ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public money.

When all your ideas are in, Sharon will send a report highlighting the most popular and creative suggestions to our Prime Minister.

Australians don't want their public money used to prop up Adani's giant coalmine. Our elected representatives have the choice to invest in public good, not private greed.

So what are your ideas for better ways to use $1 billion of public funds?

To get more involved in Sharon's creative action, download the Better Ideas for a Billion Dollars action pack or visit her blog post to learn more.

De centralis electricity generation .All future buildings domestic and industrial need to incorporate their own power generation renewable sources only with battery storage .If we insist on designing buildings to be efficient in heat and cooling and water collection with waste disposal on site from now on in we will diminish the costs into the future .

Idea 2

In an effort to protect against drought fire and flood .
Re grass all of our pas rural land with indigenous grass .They are good animal protein have far better fire rating .once established are self sustaining and do not require fertilisers .
All rural dams need to be covered or filled in and stock water needs to be stored in tanks and supplied to pasture in under ground piping rather than open channels .We can not afford evaporation of our water resource.

Renewable energy. Education, development of infrastructure, climate science…

Not original ideas….

Australia should be leading the way in renewable energy and climate science. Bring back our scientists. Consider the long term consequences.

Listen to the climate scientists you have sacked. There is a better way. Sustainable and profitable.
Leave it in the ground.

I’m disgusted that you would even think about giving away $1 billion to an already give company to wreak our reef and waterways.
The money could be spent so much better in creating better an safer roads, Education or hospitals and our medical or aged care systems. .
Their are many areas within Australia that need money but you rather spend it to stuff up or reef which is already struggling to survive. But it is also a provider of tourism the fishing industry and much more.
