To all Australian banks,
As the funders for many of our biggest and boldest projects, you hold the unique power to direct huge money into solutions to the climate crisis — and away from making it worse. We urge you to invest in our future, not coal and gas. We call on you to:
- Set a deadline — 2030 or earlier — to end all your investments in thermal coal
- Rule out funding any new or expanded thermal coal, oil or gas projects
- Ramp up funding for climate solutions like clean energy

Companies all over the world are divesting from fossil fuels. They’ve looked to the future and realised coal and gas aren’t part of that future. If Australian banks want to survive and continue to earn their outrageous profit margins then you must be divesting RIGHT NOW!!!

I wouldn’t have thought it necessary to ask banks to stop lending to fossil fuel projects after the last summer of fires in Australia, but clearly I was wrong. Please WAKE UP! The future is coming at us at a horrendous rate, our kids are not going to thank you for the survival shitfight that you are preparing for them…../Peter
Some banks will not lend to fossil fuel projects. I applaud them. Your bank continues to fund fossil fuel projects. Knowing what you know about the impact this is having on our world how can you justify this? Shame on you.
