Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web_SouthernCorroboreeFrog.jpg

Teeny tiny southern corroboree frogs live in a small mountainous patch of Kosciuszko National Park. They ooze poison from their striking skin and hibernate in logs, bark and leaf litter in winter.

But habitat destruction, climate damage, bushfires and a devastating frog fungus mean there are probably less than 100 left in the wild.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

The rate of extinction since white habitation is alarming. We need to spend more money preserving diversity, not commemorating white explorers.

Please use your power – for my children and all the children of Australia … to halt the decline in plant and animal diversity.

I thank you for your efforts.!

Because I care about life, and I know all life is sacred and beautiful. If you have been trusted by Australia’s peoples then you must act and save this species. Otherwise, you’re no better than a murderer.

Like us, these creatures and their families are part of our fragile web of life. Break that web and everything unravels.
please raise this issue with our prime minister

The free of many endangered species, including the southern corroboree frog is in our hands. They don’t have lobby groups, we can’t measure their direct economic impact, but what we know, as each species fades into extinction we lose an intricate part of our global ecosystem, a path that will lead to our eventual self destruction. Is that the sort of world you wish to leave to our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren…I certainly don’t, and seek your support and action to help preserve our unique and precious wild wildlife.

Save the Southern Cooroboree Frog for future generations to see & for the part they play in our ecosystem

My grandson’s favourite toy at the moment is a little Corroboree Frog. It is so important that we have strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – in this case the Southern Corroboree Frog.

With habitat destruction, climate damage, bushfires and a devastating frog fungus mean there are probably less than 100 Southern Corroboree Frogs left in the wild.

I therefore, urge you to do all that you can, including raising this with your party leader, to protect our habitat.

Thank for your consideration.

Our amazing wildlife is one of the key reasons Australia is so special, not to mention the other key reasons like the importance of biodiversity and the impact of extinction on the environment. It is imperative we make change in saving our species NOW.

Australia already has an unenviable record for extinction of native species, yet the Turnbull government’s proposed budget slashes funding for environmental programs and the staff necessary to conduct them, while continuing to support logging that is destroying precious habitat and coal mining that will worsen global warming. I urge you to strongly oppose these budget measures and endorse action to put in place effective environmental conservation measures as a matter of urgency.
