The Labor Party is still tying themselves in knots about Adani. They need to hear from us encouraging them to reject this polluting coal mine.
This is Labor’s Franklin River moment. This decision will go down in Australian environmental history. The ALP are so close, but we need to get them over the line.
Give them the courage and confidence to make the right decision!
Will you call one – or many! – of these key people in Labor's Cabinet and encourage them to make a clear public statement opposing this dangerous mine?
Calling tips
- When you call, you might speak to a staffer. Ask them to leave a message for the Shadow Minister. If you can't get through, keep trying!
- Be polite and encouraging – we want them to make a good decision!
- Talk about why you care about this
- Be specific – ask them to make a clear public statement opposing Adani's mine

Spoke with Tanya’s staff..
Who ASSURE me there is NO meeting and Labour is NOT changing their minds.

gareth on the phone at ROB MITCHELL office craigieburn victoria
Called Bill Shorten. Spoke to Mandy. “I will pass your message across.”
I rang all of them! Said I wanted them to come out and say definitvely no Adani mine, no futher development of Abbot Point and not to allow Gina Rinehart to have any infrastructure to be built for her mining in the Galilee Basin. I also asked them to put in place strong environmental laws and to take strong action on reducing our increasing carbon emissions and have a more ambitious target for renewable energy.
Rang Bill Shorten. My name has been added to the list!
Bill Shorten. Fobbed off.
Just called Bill Shortens office and spoke with Alex. Expressed my opposition to Adani and support for Labour’s proposed opposition. Alex was very pleasant & thanked me for taking the time to ring & recorded my name & postcode
I called all on the list. Staffers took my details and undertook to pass them on. I made sure that I told them that public perception was that the mine had bipartisan support and Labor needed to make a statement to publicly and unambiguously oppose the mine. Bill shortens office said that labor’s position would be more definite before the election and I said that their statement needed to be made as soon as possible
Called the electoral offices of Tony Burke and Mark Dreyfus (Canberra numbers were not answering at all). Only got the office perso, but they had clearly been getting a lot of calls.
Calls went well. They appreciated me making the call. Didn’t get to speak to members themselves but spoke to a person in each of the Shadow Cabinet members’ offices and told them I had heard about Shorten’s speech at the Press Club and was encouraged by the feeling that Labor may be shifting its position on Adani. I told them they have my complete support if they stop the Adani mine.
I phoned Tanya, Tony & Bill’s offices, staffer said they were happy to pass on my comments
Denis
Spoke to one of the staff. She said they were all taking calls for Tanya about the community concerns and will pass on the message. She said Tanya had not changed her position with regards to the Adani coal mine. Labour was against using federal money to fund the investment in the mine.
Called Bill S office office lady said she would pass my message on to Bill. In my message I stated that the 10,000 jobs they keep talking about (as the big reason they are considering it) does not take into account how many jobs, livelihoods clean air and the health of the community will be destroyed. Also our ‘Golden Soil’ and ‘Freedom’ we so passionately sing about in our Nation Anthem will be destroyed. Say NO now.
Tanya Plibersek. I spoke to a staffer that told me that were receiving lots of calls and that Tanya Plibersek had not changed her views on Adani.
i called Bill Shortens office and the secretary was emphatic that Labor will be the only Party to stop adani. i explained just how important our reef is to me and the world and after that he had to get to other swarms of calls to answer. he asked if i was responding from the ACF campaign
Chris Bowen
Tanya plibesek
Got a better response from the office of CBowen. Office of TPlibersek says "position unchanged, and Tanya does not see the business case as stacking up.
i phoned Tanya Plibersek’s office. i left a message stating my name and my opposition to the Adani mine and my reasons for it.
Left message with both Bill S and Tanya P office message service. Stated my opposition to Adani coal mine and Abbot point terminal and asked that Labour Party refuse any approvals. Asked for my message to be passed to members and call back to acknowledge same. Cheers MK
Spoke to very helpfull office lady who is trying to find out exactly what bill shorten said. I told her no adani, no Abbott point. Also no to letting Gina Rhineheart take over the project or use Abbott Point ( which I think may be the next move).
D’uth know one’s humanity!!!
I called on the day before last and spoke to a forked toughed man over the telephone, hoping to take the opportunity to openly talk about the issue of Mr Adani and his “Coal Operation”. AHHHH! But low and behold, the rotten man squealed off the things that one would (metaphorically) suckle straight from the breast of Hades himself! Yet its as if Zeus blessed my lips and thus gained strength from thy breast, just Hercules rose to the throne of Olympus! COME BROTHERS AND SISTERS! Let us not suckle the lies from the nipples of the snake. Let us not cast away from the light of truth. Let us not let these Bummdars fraternise like Romans in an orgy of loose men and women. Spread the message like Hermes in the winds of truth!! Just like the 300 Spartans holding off the Persians at the moist womb of Greece herself, we will linking our strong, sweaty, muscular arms together to FIGHT off our common enemy!!!
HAZAARRRR!!!!!!!!
E mailed shadow cabinet.
Asked for public statement opposing Adani.
Urgency of climate change. Critical for real action.
No rail must be built or funded to Galilee Basin. Galilee basin must not be developed by Adani (ethically bankrupt) or any other mine. Will differentiate ALP from Libs. Gratitude of many Australians would follow, as for proposal re anti-corruption body.
I called Tanya Plibersick and left a Voicemail Message on her answerering Service to voice my opinion about the current government and their disregard for important invironemental issues & about the proposed Mining in the Franklin River in Tasmania etc….Julie Ranger 🌏📱
