The Labor Party is still tying themselves in knots about Adani. They need to hear from us encouraging them to reject this polluting coal mine.

This is Labor’s Franklin River moment. This decision will go down in Australian environmental history. The ALP are so close, but we need to get them over the line.

Give them the courage and confidence to make the right decision!

Will you call one – or many! – of these key people in Labor's Cabinet and encourage them to make a clear public statement opposing this dangerous mine?

Calling tips

  • When you call, you might speak to a staffer. Ask them to leave a message for the Shadow Minister. If you can't get through, keep trying!
  • Be polite and encouraging – we want them to make a good decision!
  • Talk about why you care about this
  • Be specific – ask them to make a clear public statement opposing Adani's mine

Reject the polluting coal mine. Stop Adani’s mine for the future generations of this country. We have to think of the future of our planet, and the environment our children are going to one day inherit. Stop Adani’s mine and all the infrastructure to allow it to proceed.

I’d like to tell Geoff Cousins he has now lost any credibility he had. 730 has been out to get Bill Shorten for past 3 yrs and he managed to allow her to twist words and now Parl Trashing him. These LNP politicians are pigs..and he just fed them… SHAME ON YOU ALL

Called Tanya and spoke to a staff member. I gave her many reasons why Adani must be stopped, not the least being the company’s disgraceful international reputation as environmental bandits. I explained that I am taking my children on a road trip to the Reef this year, because I am afraid it will not be there for them to explore as adults.
Benjamin 2018-02-28 14:24:11 +1100
Chris Bowen and Tanya Plibersek.

Called Shorten’s office and asked them to pass him on a message that I don’t support the mine for various reasons, and asked them release a clear public statement opposing it. The staffer was quite short with me and ended the call as quickly as she could, saying she’d “take it on board”.
Ryan 2018-02-28 14:11:14 +1100
Called Tanya Plibersek,Anthony Albanizie and about to call Bill Shorten.

Left my name and message to declare publicly against Adani. All good. First time I’v e done it. Big step but very big issue. Like the clearing of State Forests up mid north-coast.
Regards.

Bill Shorten’s office. Asked if Labour opposed Adani’s coal mine & staffer said yes. He said they are working on a review. I asked when results available & he said in due course. I urged Labour to stand strong on this issue & many voters can be swayed by their stance on this issue

Called Tony Burke’s office and spoke to a staffer who was very dismissive. Said I should call the government as they were the ones making the decisions.
Told her as a result I wouldn’t vote Labor for the first time in 52 years. I’d vote Green.

Called Bill Shorten
Anthony Albanese
Tanya Plibersek
Very positive feedback, especially from Bill’s office. Said that in office, Labor would not be supporting the Adani Mine Project. They have very definite ideas regarding jobs for people who will have lost jobs over this issue.
Merrilyn 2018-02-28 13:37:29 +1100
Tony Burke. Said she would put me on the ‘list’
Warwick 2018-02-28 13:01:27 +1100
