The Labor Party is still tying themselves in knots about Adani. They need to hear from us encouraging them to reject this polluting coal mine.
This is Labor’s Franklin River moment. This decision will go down in Australian environmental history. The ALP are so close, but we need to get them over the line.
Give them the courage and confidence to make the right decision!
Will you call one – or many! – of these key people in Labor's Cabinet and encourage them to make a clear public statement opposing this dangerous mine?

- When you call, you might speak to a staffer. Ask them to leave a message for the Shadow Minister. If you can't get through, keep trying!

I called bill shorten and tony Burke. Staff said they would pass on message. I noted that they said with all the other calls.
I live in rural NSW but care about the reef and implications for the environment as a whole. I urged them to be decisive.
I also said I wAnt my grandchildren to see a beautiful reef and have an environmentally sound future
Tanya Pilbersek. asked staffer to pass on that i would like a clear statement from labour against the mine. that scientists tell us 88% of fossil fuel needs to stay in the ground and coal is the low hanging fruit, we can easily move away from coal as a source of power.
Sharon Claydon is always appreciative of our contact.
Tried to contact Ged Kearney’s campaign team on 0467 018 241; couldn’t leave a message as “this message bank is full”. :-(
Contacted Bill Shorten’s Melbourne Office with the message that Ged Kearney has at least a slim hope in Batman if Labor were to categorically repudiate the Adani coal mine
Called Tanya Plibersek’s office. Said I am convinced by all the evidence that the corrupt Adani not sustainable and a complete disaster for Australia and its workers seeking stable jobs. Received sympathetically, I was assured it would be passed on.
Tanya Plibersek and said Iam totaly totaly opposed to the Adani mine, and the destruction of our country, we must look after our mother country, being a woman I hope Tanya understands this.
The only way support for Adani makes any sense is if they are on the take. You need to call them out on this.
I know it will be hard to wean your Party off coal money, but the time is ripe. We need decisive strong leadership to save this planet. It is not about coal miners or coal companies. This about the Reef ad humanity.
Called the Shorten office.
Politely expressed extreme concern.
Thanks ACF
Just called 5 shadow ministers – including leader’s office – all very friendly and giving message that they have had a lot of calls- and that the opposition to the mine is being taken very seriously – and that an alternative plan for the (Adani) region is in the pipeworks. Thanks to ACF for this great initiative
2018 Febr 6th: about 9:35 am.
I spoke to a staffer (Clare) in Shayne Neumann’s Canberra office. He is my federal member [Blair]. I politely advised that I am opposed to the Adani mine and that I wanted Shayne’s shadow cabinet colleagues to come out with something definite about stopping the Adani mine.
As background I said that it’s been about 30 years since the United Nations declared global warming a serious problem, and that 30 years is a very, very long time. We need action on (human induced) climate change urgently.
I gave Clare my full name and address.
Called Bill Shorten’s office and Mark Butler’s office as well as having physically visited my local federal member’s (Tony Zappia) on a couple of previous occasions re. this issue. Although having only managed to speak to staffers when making phone calls this morning, am feeling far more encouraged by their present response regarding this Adani issue than I was a few months ago when having raised my same concerns with Mr. Zappia who at that time was following the standard party line by saying that this filthy project would at least create a number of jobs. I told him then and continue to do so, that I will never give my vote or any support whatsoever, to any party who supports the Adani project in any shape or form. I will continue to make further calls to other Labour MPs on the list you have provided.
Hi Folks, I just went through the list of shadow cabinet members and left messages with all the staffers. It was really quick and easy, staffers were polite and all said they had recieved a lot of calls about this. Thanks ACF for running this campaign!
Bill Shorten’s office in Victoria.
Receptionist/Secretary answered; said that she would pass on the message, expressing total opposition to Adani Mine proposal and “development”.
Tanya Plibersek. My name was noted . Polite response from her secretary .
I made the call to Bill Shorten’s Maribyrnong office. There was no one there so I left a message on his answering machine. I politely said that I am with the ACF and that I don’t want the Adani mine to go ahead and that I really take it very seriously.
Called Tanya, Chris Bowen, Bill shorten, Anthony Albanese so far. All said they would pass on message and that they were supportive of what I was saying.
I was able to register my protest with all the ministers’ offices except Shayne Neumann. Mark Butler’s assistant informed me that their office has received 10,900 emails and 200 calls.
Called Bill Shorten’s office – left a clear message about my strong opposition to Adani mine and left my contact details. I received a promise that my message would be passed on to Bill Shorten.
Spoke with Charlotte in Bill Shortens office – asked her relay the message that we ( the Australian public ) expected the Labor Govt to make a public commitment NOT to support the Adani mine for obvious reasons, including the future of our planet!
tanya Plibersek and i spoke to an assistant by the name of Cain and her was very able. He quoted back to me, Labour’s attitude and opinion on the Adani coalmine saying Labour knows it doesn’t stack up on any counts and also means we will not be able to abide by our Paris agreement. they are not voting on it today. cain said he had had several calls and they were making a list of people who had voiced their concerns. all good!
I called everyone on the list. The Shane Neumann call went to an answering machine and I didn’t leave a message. All others said they would pass on the message, some said that they’d had hundreds of calls. Encouragingly, many staffers support our views. Mark Butlers staffer said he’s been very vocal, both inside and outside the party, of his opposition to the Adani mine.
Bill Shorten’s office. A brief call, politely received. He said “you are not alone in this”, so he must have received a lot of calls already
Bill Shorten Office
Spoke with Harry
He said Labor held position of not supporting the adani mine or naif loan.
