Coles and Woolworths both claim they’re doing good things for our climate.

So why are these supermarkets both card-carrying members of one of Australia’s shadiest climate-wrecking lobby groups: the Business Council of Australia (BCA)? It just doesn't check out.

Over the past few decades the BCA has strategically undermined a long list of climate policies in Australia. As a result, climate pollution in this country is going up, not down like it must if we are to continue enjoying life on our beautiful planet.

By weakening the BCA’s membership, we can neutralise their influence over climate policy in Australia – and get back on track in building a future that’s good for everyone and every living thing.

Sign the open letter now asking Coles and Woolworths to leave the climate-wrecking BCA:

As customers, shareholders and employees of Coles and Woolworths, we call on the supermarket giants to leave the Business Council of Australia (BCA) – it continues to undermine climate policy in Australia and advocate for the weakening of environmental laws.

We are concerned about the climate crisis and want action.

Pleas try NOT to use plastic as much as you can!
It is possible if Coles put its mind to it!
Thank you Coles!

Remember, the climate crisis impacts on your product lines as well.

It’s urgent to also start replacing globally sourced products with as many locally sourced products as possible (eg black grapes out of season here coming from the USA, that have poisonous chemicals sprayed on them to keep them longer than is their natural shelf life. It’s out of season- teach customers to only choose fruit that’s in season in Australia or the state it’s being sold in. Much climate heating co2 is produced in the world from over consumption of products we don’t need that have been flown into our country on cargo planes producing huge amounts of highly toxic air pollution with enormous outputs of co2. Another example is Bon Soy Soy milk. All baristas and vegan coffee aficionados prefer it, but it comes from Japan! The Woolworths home brand should be made to be the same level of quality with no extra additives (Like oil and sugar!) , so a locally sourced and quality range is available to replace our thirst for food and drink that is going to be the end of us all. Food shortages and world wide starvation is a likely scenario within 10-20 years if businesses like yours don’t sit up and listen and really focus and act. The children are begging us for their very lives in the streets now.
