Coles and Woolworths both claim they’re doing good things for our climate.

So why are these supermarkets both card-carrying members of one of Australia’s shadiest climate-wrecking lobby groups: the Business Council of Australia (BCA)? It just doesn't check out.

Over the past few decades the BCA has strategically undermined a long list of climate policies in Australia. As a result, climate pollution in this country is going up, not down like it must if we are to continue enjoying life on our beautiful planet.

By weakening the BCA’s membership, we can neutralise their influence over climate policy in Australia – and get back on track in building a future that’s good for everyone and every living thing.

Sign the open letter now asking Coles and Woolworths to leave the climate-wrecking BCA:

As customers, shareholders and employees of Coles and Woolworths, we call on the supermarket giants to leave the Business Council of Australia (BCA) – it continues to undermine climate policy in Australia and advocate for the weakening of environmental laws.

We are concerned about the climate crisis and want action.

Why are Coles and Woolworths card-carrying members of thee Business Council of Australia, who are amongst the shadiest climate-wrecking lobby groups. SHAME ON YOU! YOU SHOULD CHANGE YOUR POSITION.

Given the Climate Change Emergence the World is currently experience not to forget the prolonged drought and the nation wide bushfires you can no longer afford to support an organisation like BCA. The line in the sand must be drawn.

So high time to set the right example and leave the BCA!!! Do what is right, minimise plastic packaging, and stop ridiculous plastic toy collections, only to try and get more customers to come into your shops, and you will see a rise of customers.

Because these are customers who want change, but can’t do it alone, and who want to leave a planet behind for their children and grandchildren, worth living on’. Surely, this is what you want for yours too…..!!!!!!!!

I am a customer but I thought I was buying from a supplier of goods. I did not realise the business I am purchasing from interfered in the lives of Australians and actively promoted against the things I believe in and believe to be for the best interests of my country. The BCA has values that solely focus on financial gains and actively promotes fossil fuels, if you continue to be a member of this organisation I will withdraw my custom.

Please review your support for the Business Council of Australia as I understand they support coal mining and the burning of fossil fuels which are degrading our environment due to CO2 emissions. Australia needs to embrace a clean energy future and create jobs in new renewable energy projects.

Our developing climate emergency will decrease food production and our capacity to buy it . There are no supermarkets on a dead planet.
We can’t support Coles and Woolies while you support the BCA.
THIS IS TIME FOR TRUTH AND LEADERSHIP.

As a regular customer I am protesting over your membership of the bca, a group that undermines good climate strategies consistently.
