Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_LargetoothSawfish.jpg

Largetooth sawfish are some of the world’s rarest and most endangered fish.

They use their sensitive snouts to detect the heartbeats of their prey. Baby sawfish are called pups – they have special gel over their sharp saws to protect their mums while they’re being born!

But these prehistoric fish are tangled up in modern-day environmental damage, and now they’re critically endangered.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

Act to save this species now. Legislate to conserve homelands.
ACT NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. These creatures need custodians not corporate greed and ignorance.

If animals as large as this are near extinction then it’s a BIG problem that needs BIG and Fast solutions. Bigger marine parks would be a start.
We need stronger environmental laws to protect these endangered species. They are as important as any one of us.

These Largetooth Sawfish are incredible, especially how the snouts of their young are covered in a special gel to protect their mothers during the birthing process! Humans are responsible, directly and indirectly, for the destruction of this magnificent species – WHAT A TRAVESTY.

Sharlie Stubbs, We can never know until it is too late to save them, what creatures are necessary to maintain the balance of life on earth. Are you willing to take that chance? What if all the land-hungry, dirty, polluters are wrong? Ask yourself that question before you vote on conservation issues, please.

What a rare and awesome creature is the Largetooth Sawfish. How sad that they are endangered. They were here way before we were. We must do all we can to protect their home and their food sources. We need to do it not only for their sake but for our sake. We have to step up and create strong environmental laws to protect the animals and places we love.

We need to protect what we do have left while we still have it. So many animals are nearly forever gone and it’s human kinds fault, we can fix this, we have before.

Australia is a very unqiue and fragile enviroment and it is the responsbility of the Australian government to create and uphold strict and good environment laws to continue to take care of the unique animals species we have here, especially those which are threatened.

As an Australian I am appalled that all levels of gov’t do not enact the strongest environmental protection laws to protect not only the vunerable and endangered but all the animals that exist in our environment. The catch cry should be “No Australian animal will become extinct on my watch – not now, not ever.” It is our duty as guardians/protectors/custodians to do everything possible to save these animals and their environments. The loss of one species is a loss for every other species, including mankind, on this our planet.

I am 17 years of age, and I plan to travel and see the world when I graduate high school. I fear that we are losing our environment at such a rapid rate that I will not be able to experience our native flora and fauna when I travel around Australia.
This rapid loss is devastating, and it is up to the people of Australia to voice a need for change, but it is up to our government to listen. Please, on behalf of the young people who are yet to see the beauty our country has to offer, hear us now before it is too late.

In this stressful time of climate change, we need to preserve our forests for our own survival as well as the survival of our unique Australian species.
Please strenghten the laws protecting our natural environment.

Australians need strong national environment laws to protect our amazing native wildlife. More species are threatened every year, more species disappear every year, we need to act now to halt the destruction and degradation of natural areas. Please work to create strong laws to protect our land, oceans, waterways and native wildlife.

You seriously need to have laws in place to protect the sea life & in general all life life not just humans, please I’m beeging you to just try and try and try again until someone in government in charge or whoever can make this happen. Maybe it’s even you, YOU CAN and MUST do everything you can to protect all life that includes sea life wild life, I just don’t understand becuase if it was dogs in the world that had a disease that was killing them and we knew how to help everyone would becuase most people love dogs. It’s just like these Largetooth sawfish have a problem it’s fishing nets are literally are killing them so YOU NEED TO DO AS MUCH AS YOU CAN TO TRY AND HELP.
