Largetooth sawfish are some of the world’s rarest and most endangered fish.
They use their sensitive snouts to detect the heartbeats of their prey. Baby sawfish are called pups – they have special gel over their sharp saws to protect their mums while they’re being born!
But these prehistoric fish are tangled up in modern-day environmental damage, and now they’re critically endangered.

If an organism is threatened with extinction it is an indicator of an unhealthy environment that will hurt our and future generations chances to enjoy life on earth

Every species plays it’s part in maintaining a balanced environment. Losing species to habitat destruction can be avoided with clear thought and intelligent policies.
Honour Leigh: It is the responsibility of governments to protect our wildlife from human activity that is destroying biodiversity wholesale. If we keep up the destruction of habitats and species that is presently happening we are in for a rude shock in the near future.
