This week we've learned that tech company Siemens is considering a dirty deal with Adani.
Adani needs a company to install signalling on the 200km railway it will use to transport coal to the coast. Only a few companies in Australia can do this work – and all except Siemens have ruled it out!
Call any (or all!) of these Siemens offices and ask them to leave a message for Jeff Connolly (CEO Siemens Australia & Pacific) and Raphaelle Guerineau (CEO Siemens Mobility Australia & New Zealand). Ask them to rule out working on the climate-wrecking project.
Report back on your call so we can count our impact.

2. Siemens Mobility Melbourne Office – (03) 9616 9000
3. Siemens Corporate Enquiries – 137 222
Calling tips
-
Be friendly and polite! Our concern is with Siemens' decision to work with Adani, not its employees.
-
These calls don't have to be long – the sheer number of calls is what will have an impact, so feel free to make it quick so you can get through as many as you can!
-
You may be asked to direct your message to their website – you can politely decline that, and leave your message with the staff member you are speaking to.
-
Ask directly for Siemens to rule out work on Adani's coal mine and rail project. Climate damage is here, now – we must end digging and burning coal.
Talking points
Remember, you don't need to be an expert on climate damage or anything else! You have a right to make this call and share your concerns about Siemens supporting a climate-wrecking project. Here are some talking points to help your call:
-
Share your support for Siemens committing to the Paris Agreement to keep global temperature rise well below 2°C and pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Remind Siemens that helping Adani dig up and export coal for burning is incompatible with the Paris Agreement.
-
Mention that burning coal is the biggest cause of climate damage – and the Adani mine would open the Galilee Basin to one of the biggest expansions of coal mining on planet Earth.
-
Suggest that by backing clean energy and refusing to work on dangerous projects like coal mines, companies like Siemens can provide solutions to the climate crisis – not be part of the problem.

They said politely they would pass my message on to their CEO
Polite short response – told me the message will be passed on. 4 minute wait to be connected – suggests lots of people are calling.
4min on hold and then through to a message bank. It appears dissruption is working. That will send a message. Im gonna call em back again!
Had to wait a few minutes for my call to be answered and as soon as I tried to talk about my concerns about climate change, the woman on the phone said if it’s about the decision on Friday, my message will be passed on. She reluctantly took my name but was polite enough. I think they are getting a lot of calls so that her response anticipated what I was calling about. Im hoping that this is a good thing.
The receptionist said she would pass my message on.
Lady was polite said she’d note my call to the list of other calls. She didn’t give me the opportunity to leave my name so I called the mobility number and left a message on their answering machine with my name :)
Well, how well can it go … They’re making a deal with the devil…
Was on hold for only a minute. Then put through to giving a recorded message.
Head office – went to a voice mail & I left a messsge but Melb Office directed me to website & then hung up.
I didnt get through and kept being put back onto a waiting list.
Called the Melbourne office, they didn’t answer so I left a polite message. I noticed on their website they say their company is helping to pioneer a sustainable future across the globe – so we are just helping them stick to their own values and aims when we ask them to rule out working on Adani’s coal mine and rail project.
Got answering machine left name and no and asked that they please don’t do work with Adani
Asked me to make it short because of the number of calls they’re getting
My call was revived after 3 mins. I voiced my concerns regarding the Adani project and the woman told me they would add my name to the list being sent to the CEO.
Every drop of water is too precious & should not be wasted on a dirty, environmentally damaging enterprise
I was told that my call would be recorded. & passed on to the CRO
Called all three and my responses were recorded
Yes, called and felt they were getting a lot of calls by the way they knew how to listen and say thankyou and nothing else.
Polite lady said she would pass on my message of support for Siemens to not work with Adani. Didn’t want my name.
Interesting! Basically they blocked me. I called head office and when asked how to direct the call I said I wanted to speak to someone about Siemens potential involvement in the Adani mine. At first she refused to direct my call, sayin a message would be passed on, yet refusing to take my message. So I called back and this time asked to be directed to a contact for the Siemens Science School since this has been my family’s connection with the company in the past. No-one answered, call went through to voice mail and I requested a call back, leaving no message. No reply as yet.
After waiting on hold for 10 minutes, the receptionist declined to give her name, and when I started to speak about my concerns, she gently interrupted and said my concerns would be passed on the their CEO.
Polite, stone walling, will pass on that another message of concern was received.

Very polite person answered and promised to pass the message on.
Well, that was a waste of time, the staff member did not want to hear what i had to say. Was rather rude and abrupt.
Woman who answered the phone advised that messagewould only be received via the website
