This week we've learned that tech company Siemens is considering a dirty deal with Adani.
Adani needs a company to install signalling on the 200km railway it will use to transport coal to the coast. Only a few companies in Australia can do this work – and all except Siemens have ruled it out!
Call any (or all!) of these Siemens offices and ask them to leave a message for Jeff Connolly (CEO Siemens Australia & Pacific) and Raphaelle Guerineau (CEO Siemens Mobility Australia & New Zealand). Ask them to rule out working on the climate-wrecking project.
Report back on your call so we can count our impact.

2. Siemens Mobility Melbourne Office – (03) 9616 9000
3. Siemens Corporate Enquiries – 137 222
Calling tips
-
Be friendly and polite! Our concern is with Siemens' decision to work with Adani, not its employees.
-
These calls don't have to be long – the sheer number of calls is what will have an impact, so feel free to make it quick so you can get through as many as you can!
-
You may be asked to direct your message to their website – you can politely decline that, and leave your message with the staff member you are speaking to.
-
Ask directly for Siemens to rule out work on Adani's coal mine and rail project. Climate damage is here, now – we must end digging and burning coal.
Talking points
Remember, you don't need to be an expert on climate damage or anything else! You have a right to make this call and share your concerns about Siemens supporting a climate-wrecking project. Here are some talking points to help your call:
-
Share your support for Siemens committing to the Paris Agreement to keep global temperature rise well below 2°C and pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Remind Siemens that helping Adani dig up and export coal for burning is incompatible with the Paris Agreement.
-
Mention that burning coal is the biggest cause of climate damage – and the Adani mine would open the Galilee Basin to one of the biggest expansions of coal mining on planet Earth.
-
Suggest that by backing clean energy and refusing to work on dangerous projects like coal mines, companies like Siemens can provide solutions to the climate crisis – not be part of the problem.

I rang and asked that Siemens not work in the Adani project, and that as a scientifically based company Siemens should be looking to work on clean energy projects. The reception was polite and even humorous, and the lady said she would pass my comment and suggestion on.
Phoned all three number and left message with staff.
One said they would “add my name to the list”
It is clear they are getting lots of calls!
I said i wanted to voice my concerns. Was asked if I’d sent an email. I said yes. She asked for my name and phone number. Then hung up quite quickly.
I was put on hold for 5 minutes and then my call was sent to a message bank where I left a brief message covering the key issues. I asked for a call back to talk about this issues further and left my number.
Rang first number. Receptionist was very polite and took my name and number. Said I needed to voice my concerns about Siemens support for Adani and that our governments were not doing the right thing so it was up to all of us to stand up against this.
It went well. They collected my details to pass on. When I politely asked if I should expect a call back, the lady wasn’t sure. I then asked if there is a tally being generated, she couldn’t answer that either. Poor thing sounded burnt out.
There was quite a wait & the operators were busy on other calls. The person who picked up the call was polite, and advised they’d relay the call.
they gave me customer care address to write an email. she was well acquainted with the idea of someone calling about the Adani mine – a plus!
Rang all 3 nos. Left detailed messages with two receptionists , who said they would pass on the message – I said I was particularly concerned for my 9 grandchildren under 9 who face a bleak future if the Climate is destroyed.
The 03 9699 900 went automatically to message bank. I left a message for someone to call me back
Called main office and said I’d like to register my concern re Siemens involvement with Adani. She said she was not able to direct my call, but suggested that I email instead. I emailed customer care on their website, as suggested by the person who took my call
Polite response ‘’I will pass on your message’’.
Seimens cannot support adani. This is our country. We say who does what in our land. This filthy mine is not to go ahead. We want our kids and grandies to enjoy clean air, to enjoy our Barrier Reef, to cuddle and see our amazing creatures and plants, which will eradicate them all if this nasty putrid mine goes ahead. Your kids and future generations are included in how you can help us to save our country. Thank you. Janet
Rang HO and they were keen to just take my number. I asked if I would be called back and the lady did not know. So I asked for my msg to be passed on. Rang Mobility office and it went to a messagebank.
On hold for a time before answered by team member who quickly cut me short, and said my message would be forwarded and asked for my name… unable to obtain any sense of committment not to go ahead, but ….impatience clearly evident
Head Office tried to just get me to leave name, phone number and a brief comment, as did the Mobility Office. I was able to explain that I had spent half an hour in the middle of the night ringing Siemens Head of Communications PA and was in the middle of sending a detailed email with reasons why Siemens must not sign up with Adani.
These include that the project emissions would outweigh Siemens emissions to 2030 by factor of 300 and by 2000 for the full Galilee threat. Also I squeezed in that Melbourne activists are highly motivated and experienced and in one call that the project is steeped in racism, will end in cultural genocide which is not a good look given Siemens difficult history in Germany
Very well. Short. Polite. Promised to pass my brief comment to the relevant person/s.
I made to two calls and left polite messages with the staff. I rang Siemans HQ and their Mobility office. I will try their corporate office after I finish work. Thank you for your helpful calling tips.
My call was answered by a polite staff member who assured me that my appeal for Siemens to not become involved in or with anything Adani would be passed on and said that she understood my message and my passion. I also said that anyone living in Sydney at the moment would be aware that continuing down the coal road is madness.
I was answered by an automatic service where I left a message to be called back. Judging by the long wait to be answered, they must be getting lots of calls.
- left message and number
- spoke to receptionist left number
- left message and number
She took my message. Took about 15 minutes to get through so hopefully there are a lot of callers. She asked if i would leave an email message and i said that I had done that yesterday.
Called all 3 no’s to tell Siemens management to live up to the values they espouse on their website & to rule out working with Adani.
Robert Raisbeck I left a message for Jeffconnollyand Raphaelle Guerineau
my message do not work with Adani
you have a good reputation in the Electrical Industry in Australia do not Tarnish it by Working with Adani
They didn’t really let me speak. Too my name and cut me off quickly.
I was directed to a message bank where I left my message that to work with Adani in any way would be to blacken their corporate reputation and wilfully contribute to climate change. I urged the company to have nothing to do with Adani and the mining and burning of coal. I asked them to put their considerable energy and reputation behind renewable energy projects.
