Climate damage is here now yet billionaire polluters are lining up to dig and burn more coal. Coal corporation Adani want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines in Queensland.

But people don't want this mine. If the mine goes ahead it would create billions of tonnes of pollution, wreck our climate and spell the end for our Great Barrier Reef.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community challenged the federal government's approval of the mine in court. But our laws can’t stop the government from approving Australia’s biggest coal mine, even as the reef dies before our eyes.

Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

Federal Environment Minister, Melissa Price has the power to stop this mine. And our future depends on it. It's critical she hears from everyone who cares that we want our beautiful reef, not more polluting coal.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment, Melissa Price to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

I grew up in Australia and spent 50 years of my life there. I witnessed the disastrous effects of capital growth versus the environment. It a shame that my generation could not halt the rapacious greed and save the beauty of Australia. Maybe it’s not too late for the reef if we all make an effort together.

Sheer bloody madness to make this go ahead. Minister Frydenberg, you will be vilified throughout history for this decision.

Kill off Renewables, Kill off the Reef, Rape the Land for the sake of short term $$$$. Incomprehensible thinking…not a brain or conscience between them.

This mine would be a catastrophe for the reef in particular and the environment in general.
