Climate damage is here now yet billionaire polluters are lining up to dig and burn more coal. Coal corporation Adani want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines in Queensland.

But people don't want this mine. If the mine goes ahead it would create billions of tonnes of pollution, wreck our climate and spell the end for our Great Barrier Reef.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community challenged the federal government's approval of the mine in court. But our laws can’t stop the government from approving Australia’s biggest coal mine, even as the reef dies before our eyes.

Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

Federal Environment Minister, Melissa Price has the power to stop this mine. And our future depends on it. It's critical she hears from everyone who cares that we want our beautiful reef, not more polluting coal.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment, Melissa Price to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

We are absolutely dieing and (so is the reef) for some sense and leadership to protect our environment both global and local but starting with local, for the sake of future generations. We cannot live healthily if our ecosystems are not healthy! Stop this dreadful coal mine going ahead.

Something has to be done, we can’t continuously keep on destroying nature and think that things will be okay.

Just stop it. We can eat coal and we can’t drink oil. The time of fossil fuels is ending. It doesn’t take a degree to work out this mine will impact the reef, just common sense. Common sense it would seem is not to common amongst those we the people elect to serve and protect us and our environment. Please remember who you serve the Australian people not a mining company.

Now the economic value of the GAB has been costed it is time for the Great Barrier Reef to have its economic value recognised. We are being dragged into a future we do not want by a group of short-sighted politicians who I hope will live long enough to face our grandchildren and explain why they let this catastrophe happen, nay, welcomed it with open arms and our open wallets. For goodness sakes, use some intelligence.

Some people in power really need to pull their head out of their ass and see what is truly worth fighting for.

A travesty of gigantic proportions will be thrust upon the Great Barrier Reef if the Adam Mine is approved. How can our government promote this and our judiciary approve a dirty coal mine (a huge polluter) and threaten a world heritage listed area, already under extreme pressure from adverse environmental influences. Please consider any decision that give Adani the go ahead!

This mine will not only negatively affect Australia but the whole world. We don’t need more mines. We need more clean energy. Please support clean energy instead of this grotesque monster of a mine. Please.

This coal mine could spell the death of the Great Barrier Reef. We must keep coal in the ground. Australia doesn’t need new coal mines – we need new investment (and jobs!) in renewable energy, the ultimate sustainable industry.
