Climate damage is here now yet billionaire polluters are lining up to dig and burn more coal. Coal corporation Adani want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines in Queensland.

But people don't want this mine. If the mine goes ahead it would create billions of tonnes of pollution, wreck our climate and spell the end for our Great Barrier Reef.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community challenged the federal government's approval of the mine in court. But our laws can’t stop the government from approving Australia’s biggest coal mine, even as the reef dies before our eyes.

Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

Federal Environment Minister, Melissa Price has the power to stop this mine. And our future depends on it. It's critical she hears from everyone who cares that we want our beautiful reef, not more polluting coal.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment, Melissa Price to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

The destruction of nature cannot be justified by money given to the extremely wealthy who will never remove their snouts from the trough. How will you be remembered?

Australian leaders have legal an moral obligation to lead with a 100% commitment to protecting our life-supporting ecosystems above all else. You have been elected to uphold and honour this commitment on behalf of present and future generations and you are liable for the irreparable damage that is the direct byproduct of the financially and ecologically unviable fossil fuel industry.

This is a time to make a decision for the future.
The company has a very poor reputation overseas so if the Minister truly believes that we must move away from coal, here is a golden opportunity. The future geneartions will remember the decisions you make now.

This is a disgrace – the EPBC exists for a reason! Whatever happened to the precautionary priciple? We are destroying our collective wealth in nature.

Minister Frydenberg, you have the power to make a difference to our world and stop the irreversible damage to the reef – use it wisely and stop the coal mine.
