To our elected representatives,
We call on you to work together to get big money out of our political system and put people back in.
This means:
- Banning large donations to political parties and candidates.
- Increasing the transparency of political donations, including real time reporting of donations.
- Limiting expenditure at election times so corporations can’t use their oversized wallets to drown out our voices.
- Creating an independent watchdog to investigate and stamp out corruption.
- Stronger lobbying regulation and greater transparency so we know who’s meeting with our elected representatives and why.

Maybe it cut down on annoying ads and letter litter. Just have a presentation on party site and once on TV of what each party will do if it wins and why it thinks opponents ought not be voted for; 20 mins long. Get the rich to pay fair taxes rather than bribe with big gifts.
Corporate donors need to be banned from politics. Taxpayers are who our representatives serve, not corporations.
Political donations from big corporates to any party should be banned. Only donations from small individual donors and transparency should be increased. Lobbying should be restricted so all Australians can comment as clearly those with fat wallets seem to have the best access.
I want our government to do the right thing for our country, citizens and climate, and not be dictated by the donation $ – ban donations and maybe you can govern putting the country, citizens and climate first.
Its time for a massive change and a massive clean up not just of our environment but mostly important our political system.
It’s time to safeguard our democracy and the planet’s future before it’s too late.
This is true & can no longer happen wether its good for the eco not or not. Ecology is also becoming a humanitarian issue. Today’s gain could destroy the world for my grandchildren quite literally.
I completely support this letter. Will the major parties ever support such action. I’m not hopeful but with enough voices coming from the informed and passionate just maybe they will eventually.
Respect democracy and take large corporate donations out of parliament. Politicians represent all the people of Australia.
Believing that your imaginary friend in the sky controls the climate is a very dangerous delusion!
Just stop lying. We know you are lying. Just stop it.
Be the person your grandparents and parents raised you to be. Be honest and ethical and empathetic.
