Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_web_Numbat.jpg

Numbats have stolen our hearts! These adorable marsupials sleep in hollow fallen logs or burrows and eat 20,000 termites a day with their long sticky tongues. They don’t drink water – termites keep them hydrated.

Numbat families used to live from Victoria to WA, but because of habitat destruction, foxes and cats, now they cling to existence in just two places in the wild.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

Before long these wonderful creatures could become extinct. Something needs to be done before this happens. Please help the numbats survive.

HUman beings think they are so smart yet on our watch hundreds , if not thousands , of beautiful wild creatures will become extinct. Now how smart if that? what a boring world it will become. Please provide proper protection for these animals Sally Wylie

We need to protect our wildlife from extinction by protecting the habitat that supports their health and wellbeing

To MP,
I believe we need stronger environmental laws to help protect all of Australias amazing wildlife and habitats. Australian animals are needed to keep Australia thriving and by helping to protect these animals we will get their numbers again and this won’t hurt our pockets. We need to get back on track with helping Animals survive because their survival is vital! No Animal should be fighting harder to stay alive due to humans mistreating the environment. Humans are the blame, we litter, we bring toxins to the area we surround, we expand our houses in areas where animals call home. We are disrespecting all that life has to offer us and we are damaging the threads that keep animals afloat. People take animals for granted, we move closer in to there homes and some people just kill them for fun. Numbats being one of the million Australian animals that suffer everyday because us humans are too blind to see the impact we are having on their homes! Numbats habitats are decreasing as we move in closer, they are getting pushed to the eadge into hiding and for what? Because we made it this way, instead of realising the damage that we have caused, we just keep going! Before we know it, the numbat will be another harmless animal added to the extinct list! We need to protect them and all the Animals of Australia. So please help us make a difference and protect Australias Animals!
Thank you

We are all stewards of our environment. We have a duty to care for every living thing that is native in our environment.
We must protect threatened species. It IS costly but essential.

Australia’s environment, our flora and fauna, is what makes our country so unique and great. It shouldn’t be an issue put onto the back-burner in order to advance other facets of our country, such as industry or the economy. It is crucial that we protect our environment and make significant changes to reduce our effect on the planet. The environment doesn’t deserve to suffer at the expense of our need to destroy it and advance ourselves. Please, put more regulations in place to ensure the safety and survival of the environment for future generations.
