To the Queensland government,

From droughts to bushfires, Queenslanders are living with the impacts of climate damage here and now. 

Queensland can be a leader in clean energy. We could be powering our homes, our towns and our economy with good energy and new jobs, powered by the wind and the sun. 

If Queenslanders own our clean energy, we can create thousands of jobs we can be proud of and bring down power prices. 

We are calling on you to make public investment in big renewable projects a priority, and act now to:

  1. Get on with climate action: set stronger pollution reduction targets, and rapidly replace coal-fired power with clean energy
  2. Build publicly-owned renewables, starting construction of at least one large project by mid-2020
  3. Plan and fund a fair transition for workers in the energy sector

I find it hard to fathom why the government is even considering opening another mine for fossil fuels such as coal. Totally out of order more should be done for renewable energy.

THE GALILEE BASIN MUST BE STOPPED!! The planet can’t take anymore excess CO2. There is no need for this coal reserve to be developed. There is only thermal coal there and it should stay there. Those in power aren’t listening. Top temp in Antarctica this week 18.2C. Record temps for another year in a row. HOW MUCH MORE EVIDENCE DO THOSE IN POWER NEED!!. Get back at them at the next election!!!!
