To the Queensland government,

From droughts to bushfires, Queenslanders are living with the impacts of climate damage here and now.

Queensland can be a leader in clean energy. We could be powering our homes, our towns and our economy with good energy and new jobs, powered by the wind and the sun.

If Queenslanders own our clean energy, we can create thousands of jobs we can be proud of and bring down power prices.

We are calling on you to make public investment in big renewable projects a priority, and act now to:

  1. Get on with climate action: set stronger pollution reduction targets, and rapidly replace coal-fired power with clean energy
  2. Build publicly-owned renewables, starting construction of at least one large project by mid-2020
  3. Plan and fund a fair transition for workers in the energy sector

Let's get on with it!

Stronger pollution reductions now. It’s what must be done to help our planet and environment. Get rid of filthy coal for clean renewable energy. We have natural resources, so why not use them.

Sunshine state needs to be a leader in clean, renewable energy. I’d love to see ads showcasing Qld’s impressive solar projects with Qld people singing, “sun, sun, sun here we come”… Let’s get record investment in solar and be known as the sunshine energy state from now on.

I want to be a proud Queenslander, being able to say we are leading the country in renewables, demonstrating that we are responsible global citizens who stand by our principles of addressing climate change and pollution. But right now we’re pariahs on the world stage for allowing Adani and co to mine in this beautiful State. Very disappointing…
