To the Queensland government,

From droughts to bushfires, Queenslanders are living with the impacts of climate damage here and now.

Queensland can be a leader in clean energy. We could be powering our homes, our towns and our economy with good energy and new jobs, powered by the wind and the sun.

If Queenslanders own our clean energy, we can create thousands of jobs we can be proud of and bring down power prices.

We are calling on you to make public investment in big renewable projects a priority, and act now to:

  1. Get on with climate action: set stronger pollution reduction targets, and rapidly replace coal-fired power with clean energy
  2. Build publicly-owned renewables, starting construction of at least one large project by mid-2020
  3. Plan and fund a fair transition for workers in the energy sector

Let's get on with it!

There is little time to dither around, you know the implications! We, the people, whom you are paid to represent and have a responsibility to, want action, not more rhetoric! Make the decision now on behalf of the people and cut emissions and make clean energy a reality!

Come on Queensland government. You have made a wonderful start. Now please get on with speeding up the clean energy transition. Accelerate our weaning off coal fired power and make us proud leaders in the global fight to combat climate change here in the Sunshine State.

nick venters ,. Many Australians badly need a reason to feel some Pride in our Governments. A Labor Qld. Government needs to cease the absolutey shameful riding rough shod over the native title holders of the Adani coal lands and instead, assure them of their Native Title. Together with making every effort in advancing large scale clean energy technologies throughout the State.

Help Australia be a world leader, not a world loser, in using clean energy. Many Australians are making changes to their lifestyle to slow down climate change. How about the government show their commitment to their voters by ramping up the processes towards a cleaner, greener Australia!

A move to renewable energy production is a crucial step to be taken. Ensuring the workers whose current employment needs to involve some re-training are included in the process.
