To the Queensland government,
From droughts to bushfires, Queenslanders are living with the impacts of climate damage here and now.
Queensland can be a leader in clean energy. We could be powering our homes, our towns and our economy with good energy and new jobs, powered by the wind and the sun.
If Queenslanders own our clean energy, we can create thousands of jobs we can be proud of and bring down power prices.
We are calling on you to make public investment in big renewable projects a priority, and act now to:
- Get on with climate action: set stronger pollution reduction targets, and rapidly replace coal-fired power with clean energy
- Build publicly-owned renewables, starting construction of at least one large project by mid-2020
- Plan and fund a fair transition for workers in the energy sector
Let's get on with it!

The issue is urgent and complex.
The solution requires a government with intelligence, wisdom and guts.
The slower it is addressed the more difficult it will become.
Real action needs to happen now. We need to ensure Adani does not go ahead and that we make responsible choices to protect our environment and future, We need to have a strong, positive and effective way forward to ensure our beautiful country remains sustainable.
Keep up the good work. Our state & country needs you too.
The problem is not trivial, and the solutions are complex but these are NOT the reasons to delay starting the transition. Remember – the best time to plant a big tree was 25 years ago. The next best time is TODAY.
We must change from coal digging and burning for power generation that cause severe pollution to renewable energy means of power generation. Oxygen levels are getting dangerously low!
Ridiculous that we don’t have more clean energy in the Sunshine State.
For all our sakes please act soon. The longer we wait before something is done, the more costly it will be. Andrew Langford
South Australia is leading in the transition to renewables. It’s time for Queensland to show we can reduce emissions by transitioning to distributed renewables as well.
Labor’s failure to act decisively on critical environmental issues is a huge disappointment and has an impact on how I vote.
Please can this government try raising its head from its nether regions and look to the future. The future is CLEAN energy. Wake up before it is too late, which is tomorrow.
